http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30243020 Bye Juan, no loss and something has gone seriously wrong behind the scenes IMO.
On Twitter Cala said: "I wish to apologise to Tan Sri Vincent Tan for my recent comments. He had nothing to do with my move to the academy." Tan probably threatened to send in the Lawyers or raid his house. Anyone know what he said about our Glorious Leader?
Forget about the Tan thing, though his twitter stuff clearly didn't help - he was gone a long time before that. Cala was a loose cannon at the club. An extrovert who played like one - you never knew what you were going to get with him and that was his downfall. I liked him for his enthusiasm on the pitch, but that was never enough. He could win a game with a superb left foot strike like at Southampton, or equally help loose it by cocking it up big time and getting sent off for pulling down Connor Wickham in that 4-0 drubbing at Sunderland. If one thing that Slade wants it's stability and that's one thing Cala didn't provide.
Agree with you there Sparkey, i am glad to see the back of him, i would have thought one of the lesser Spanish clubs will take him on though.
True Nin, bit of a problem if your job description says "Defender". Nevertheless, good luck to him on his return to Spain. Lets remember him for the cracking goal at Southampton rather than his defensive gloopers.
Another 6 or 7 out in the next transfer window hopefully. On the flip side, Harris has just been given a 2 year extension to his contract.
Sorry to see Cala go yes he was a bit of a maverick, though he would always give 100%. Will be a pity when Guerra goes as IMO he is the best striker we have. Good to see Harris getting a new contract, he just needs to up his defensive side and he will be in the first team. Would like to see him get some game time with Pilkington now out.
Slade is already targeting new signings in January, hope he gets rid of a few others from our books soon. There's at least 6 defenders in the squad that never seen on a team sheet.
