With Christmas almost upon us, I thought it time now to get the half term report on Monk penciled in, so lets have some views on our Rookie gaffer from you Jack cyber trolls that think you have it all sussed, don't be shy, I'll be giving my view in due course, and what I expect will unfold second half of the season, and pretty much most of my views will be positive regarding 'Monk the Magnificent', and clearly Huw has cut another Jewel in our Swansea Crown. Discuss.

Seeing as it was Huw who appointed Monk, you have to say that he's actually done a pretty good job. Things may not have been done properly during that situation, but who cares now? He's appointed another good young manager who probably, having been here as a player for so long, holds a greater affinity to Swansea than Martinez (who was always Wigan at heart) and Rodgers (who was a bit of a journeyman).

You may be a little oversensitive about one particular moment in time, which I do agree was handled incorrectly, but any outsiders looking in will no doubt enviously see that our chairman is continuing to produce rabbits from his hat.

Onto the OP, I think it's too early for a 'half term report'. We're 14 games in. 19 games is the half way mark. We have 22 points - if we still have 22 points after 19 games following 5 losses on the bounce, my 'half term report' will be severely different to if we have 30 points. As with every season, once you've played everyone once, you can then have a much better idea of how the second half the season is going to go.

BUT, as things stand right now, we can't ask for anything more! He's doing a great job - the squad have gelled into a proper, solid top-flight unit, we have some of the most exciting players in our history, we're still in the top 6 after 1/3 of the season. As things stand, we're flying!

Huw was a hero of mine up until he fired Laudrups agent .From there on he took things to a personal level against his own manager at the expense of the clubs 2nd half of last season imo .With 4 games remaining we were in a relegation battle, that we managed to eke our way out of .Monk has things well in control now , and Im happy hes our manager but the spring of 2014 will always haunt me of what might have been. Im very proud of Garry Monk , for not only for what he,s done off the pitch but also what he did on it when called upon. There might not be a League Cup in the case if not for his late goal

Erm, how could Huw have sacked Laudrup's agent? He said the club wouldn't deal with him, he can't sack him.

I think Monk has done a great job and I hope it continues but, he still has an awfull lot to learn in my opinions. For all our fantastic play and results there are times when I wonder if he knows which way to go (mind you the players need to take some blame for that to). It seems that when we concede, it is the way our game just seems to fall apart a little. I am also concerned that we have lost 13 points from being in the lead in games. I am sure that he will contiue to learn and get more and more things right. All in all I think he is doing a fine job considering his lack of experience in management and if he continues this way I wonder where he will end up.

Monk has done quite well I must say. I Must also say that I often think managers get too much praise when the players are playing well and too much criticism when the players are playing badly. However the team does look fit and happy.

We are 3 brothers. I'm Jonas the oldest one. Do you feel like I'm contradicting myself?

    Yes we can.

We're doing well (7th not 6th ATM but that's neither her nor there - a very good start) but can we cut the sycophancy, please?

Your first point was something that I felt strongly about a month or so back, but in my opinion Monk is showing clear signs of maturing with his decision making, still very early in his first full season, secondly those 13 points would put us 1 point off Chelsea??? so I think we need to be a bit more realistic, though I do agree we have thrown some silly points away, and I would say that 7 points was definitely down to shooting ourselves in the foot, the rest I feel were very poor Refereeing decisions..........<ok>

We all have different opinions but his decision making in team selection and substitutions for the Palace game indicated he'd learned very little. A view that is widely held.

Still, he's doing well but could do better IMO.

So far so good and far better than what many thought. Half time report 7 1/2 out of 10 with room for improvement as his experience grows...very impressive...

I was answering DragonPhill's rallying cry for positivity! Jeez, cut me some slack, man! Try and have some fun on this forum at times, Bob. It's boring otherwise.
