i was just about to, damn you mmickey, anyway nzogbia is a good player but some people think he's the be all and end all, i say go for scott sinclair from swansea, quicker, younger, english, great finisher, slap a 5/6m bid in brucie he's class
What? Think maybe you should read the thread again, as i was actually stating that you were the first to pick up on a certain comment. Instead of jumping in, read first.
Now that's a good shout. Every time I've seen him he's looked exciting, and I'm sure he'd want to come as well. Transfer fee and wages shouldn't be too high either...?
I think its important that we dont get carried away, just because a player doesnt jump at the chance to move to SAFC immediately. He is 25 now and its an important decision for the lad personally. He may well want £60k per week and maybe he is holding out to see who comes in for him. Would you all not do the very same given the same set of circumstances in your career? Thats not to say he will get it though. I have no doubt we have tabled our bid and offered our terms. Bruce will have a cut off point when he withdraws interest and N'Zogbia will be aware of that as well. If he comes in another week or 2 weeks then so be it? If he takes time to make the decision then it will be the right one. We have made 5 quick signings and maybe another 2 in the next 48/72 hours. If N'Zogbia sees them and perhaps any fresh striking options we are targeting, it may be the tipping point for him to join. If he fancies Villa or the Mags then that's his prerogative. I'd still love to see the lad play for us next season but if he doesnt, its not personal, its business.
There's no doubt that N'Zogbia is a good player, but I've never been into all of the hype surrounding the rumours of him coming to Sunderland. If he signs for us, great, but if he doesn't it's not the end of the world (honest Poolie, it's not!), because there are other players out there that are equally as good and will probably be cheaper in transfer fees and wages. With 2 months of the transfer window still remaining, that is more than enough time to recruit a talented left midfield player.
We've had years to recruit a talented left sided midfielder and we still haven't done that (for me Sess is a better player through the middle) so I can see why people are getting little tetchy with the situation.
