Well here's a collectors item from me: Andre Marriner was abysmal. Absolutely ****ing ****e. Worst refereeing display in a long time.
Well, we were looking for a response to the the Citeh game and we got it. Extremely unlucky tonight, but that's how it goes sometimes, would Arse have scored with Toby on the pitch, somehow I doubt it but losing 1-0 away at the Emirates is no disgrace. Our next two home matches are crucial now and our squad will be tested more than before. To keep perspective though, I said in August that this was a season of transition with the focus more on the cups, if we get top 4, or even 6, then that is a massive bonus.
Prefer my one. Not sure Ryan is a CM in any sense. If Tads is injured, then Mane played through the middle for Salzburg, could play Mayuka on the wing, but that really is desperation stakes.
Andre Marriner should have been left in the football league with D'urso years ago and never been allowed back. Bring back Ellerey and Hackett.
Really awful to concede so late...well done to Forster...a deserved MOTM. The injuries are worrying with such a small squad and a busy Christmas period ahead. However, I am taking positives from this game...not as bad as the City game (especially when you consider our injuries and missing Schneiderlin).
Hopefully 4 days of rest until Monday nights game will do Cork and Tadic good, only looked like knocks. Only real worry is Alderweireld.
This is where most challengers come unstuck. There are quite a few teams in this league with an excellent first XI, far fewer that can handle multiple injuries and fatigue. We're pretty much in survival mode for the next month...win the matches where we're favoured, take enough off the other contenders to hang around in the European places, and hope to build from there.
Still think fella you are being a lilttle unfair of him. On Sunday, he had to work without schneiders and today without Cork. I just think he has put sooooooo much in, he may tire, but we need more from the other mids - Steve Davis was I think below par today, with his passes way off & and little wayward going forward - maybe because he is not quite tip top match fit - but BIC VIC is ****ing Awsome
I'm happy with the performance tonight. Most players gave their best and were beaten mostly due to unlucky circumstances. Some very inspiring performances, most notably by Wanyama, Alderweireld and Forster, who I thought looked world class today. We were always going to have a problem with squad depth and our results will suffer because of that, especially in this congested period. It's important to keep a positive attitude; just remember all the positive stuff happening in and around the club, the healty foundations we're built on. Keeps me in a good spirit, regardless of these defeats.
