True. Rick has closed himself off to his emotions though so he is a total cold batard nowadays. Loved Tyreese's body slam/spear on the termite in the cabin, but he should've killed him, and didn't. Rick would've put a bullet in his head in a second like the cop this week. That's the difference.
Nope. Several seasons to come if they want to catch up with the comics properly. The tv show differs in parts, sometimes significantly, other times in minor details. But a lot of the time it is the same as the books.

Rick is on a dark path at the moment, can't wait for the rest of this season and the appearance of a really nasty bad guy.
I love his character now though. I thought his distant heartlessness approach was annoying at first but now its just part and parcel. He's the leader that's learnt not to just or get attached to anyone. Quality character
