Just wanted to say that is a top top post Beth. Summed it all up nicely. Opinions are like ar*eholes. Everyone's got one.
How many of us would have bought with their reputations Derry or Henry not many I would suspect. Fair play to them both.
Don't be daft lads I certainly get more wrong than right ⦠in fact I guess wrong everyday Henry's off the ball discipline is very good and I am pleased he is on form for us ⦠it's that simple
I live in the wildeness ( not full time yet ) and I have a lot more wrong with me than Leprosy believe me
Totally agree with you here swords. I to remember DT singing Henry's praises and like others on here I have to say I wasn't too sure.
Think you and Col are stuck in the early to mid 2000's. Modern football has moved on and the Makele role is dead. He was in a class of his own at that role but even so modern players need to be able to contribute more to the team both ways. Think Schweinsteiger, Xavi Alonso and Modiric in the role he plays at Madrid. Busquets is the closet thing at the top level to a direct comparison but even he is not so restricted and is certainly able to pass and move to retain possession With such a key position its dangerous to write off goals and assists especially when you consider Austin is the only player 13 games into the season to have scored more than one goal. So it's not like he's scraficing himself so that other players are ale to fill their boots
