QPR show the door to defender Dec 01, 2014 22:30 By Jacob Murtagh R's decide not to offer a deal to Argentine hopeful On the lookout: Harry Redknapp hopes to add to his squad in January QPR have decided not to offer a deal to Argentine defender Pablo Alvarez. The 30-year-old has been without a club since leaving Italian side Calcio Catania in the summer and trained with the Râs recently. However, Harry Redknapp has let Alvarez move on to try and secure a contract elsewhere. âHeâs gone back,â said the QPR boss. âHe was a good player so I let him come and train. He paid his own expenses and people brought him over. âHe had a good attitude and would do a job for somebody, but I donât need him here.â
Some people are never happy. Harry letting Alvarez train with us was seen by many as being yet more proof that he hadn't a clue what he was doing. Now it comes to light that as Alvarez failed to impress he won't picked up, and that he was only training with us entirely at his own expense, people still have a pop at the manager. There really is no pleasing some people.
Are you sure exactly the same people have adopted both positions? If not, you seem to be thinking of "people" as some sort of lumpen hive-mind.
'lumpen hive-mind' is one of the most arresting expressions I've seen on here, nice one TIME. Mind if I steal it, will come in very handy at work.
