Job done. Any ideas on when the flag might be revealed? Everton at home maybe, first game of the new year. Would the flag also be taken to away matches?
Yes, the club love the idea. They've even let Steve Bruce know. Clearly we need final approval once the size and material are known, but I don't see that being an issue.
No idea how long these things take, but we're in the process of getting quotes as we speak. As for away games, I think that'd be great. I guess it depends on someone being willing to take responsibility for getting it there and back and looking after it during the game, as well as the opposition club allowing it in.
Donations are excellent so far. Cheers to all. This started as a throw away comment on Sunday teatime, and less than 24 hours later, we've a design, some money and we're waiting for quotes back. It shows the degree of support for Steve Bruce and the team. Anyone want to spread the word on other social media sites? The more we get, the bigger the flag.
I'll know better when we get some quotes back, but at the moment, I reckon we're looking at a flag that's about half the size of a football goal. Let's see if we can cover the goal.
If the donations exceed what is needed for the flag, what would be done with that funding. I would maybe suggest another flag of some description or the proceeds passed to a fans group.......just think 20 odd years ago we would've put a Tiger in our team!!!
It'll be a good problem to have. If we end up with a surplus, I reckon it'll come back to the board to decide. I'd like to think we could do something to encourage the youngsters, particularly groups in the south stand. They're a big part of the future.
Top idea, maybe a flag that the youngsters can parade around the ground prior to ko, or even in the center circle.
I've stuck a 5er in. I might not like Steve Bruce but I'm all for supporting him and the team at the stadium. It's important.
How it's used is very much open to suggestions, and permissions from the club. Again, just my personal thoughts and they may change by the minute, I think it'd be good if some youngsters could carry it out, and depending on the size, pass it round the stand if it's big enough, and then finish in an area of the south where the youngsters could congregate to sing.
You know, I was thinking about this, cant we start a campaign to get Bobby to be the introducer/compère whatever you wanna call them at the start of the game?
Donated mine and the lads. The mrs showed me how to do paypal. Been a team effort. The lads not given me his money yet.....
Quick question Dutch, you said the club have been supportive of this idea, can you tell us how supportive and what they've said? I'm just being a nosey bugger and understand if it's not appropriate to put that info on a public forum.
