Could be worse. Clattenburg managed to balls up in the Championship on the weekend, failing to spot two fouls during Blackburn's late equaliser against Boro. Useless.
I think we've actually got a decent record when he's reffing. Can't remember him doing anything to really piss me off, anyway!
He was our good luck charm last season: 2-0 over Norwich, 2-1 and 5-1 over Sunderland. As for Dean, last season there was a Goon conspiracy that he's a Spurs fan, so I dread to think what'll happen if the Chavs get wind of it...
Mark Lawrenson's Prediction for Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham have not won at Stamford Bridge in 27 attempts since February 1990, and I cannot see them changing that dreadful record after watching them against Everton on Sunday. Yes, Spurs won the game but they look like a collection of individuals and every department of the team looks disjointed. Chelsea will be frustrated after Sunderland stopped them playing in their 0-0 draw on Saturday evening. But I do not see Tottenham as being capable of doing the same thing - and I expect their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to be a very busy man on Wednesday night. Lawro's prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur Lawro's 2014-15 Premier League Predictions
Like last game. Look, there aren’t a crowd of people rushing out to bet the farm on a Spurs result against Chelsea, and 2-0 is probably about what the average fan expects. But I absolutely can’t understand Lawro saying Spurs "look like a collection of individuals and every department of the team looks disjointed" if he watched the game Sunday. The simple explanation, of course, is that he didn’t watch. It’s a fair description of how we’ve looked for most of the year.
I don't know what it is that we've done to offend Lawro, but you get the impression that he wouldn't piss on Levy if he was on fire.
Michael Owen believes we can win tomorrow and I wish that he had kept that hole under his nose closed because it's that sort of statement which inspires the other team and can rebound on us. He feels that Chelsea are slowing down and we are on a three game winning streak and could well win. Now I posted that this could be the start of the normal Chelsea mid season wobble but I kept it amongst ourselves rather than broadcast it. My advice for a match like this is to keep hush and state no predictions.
All that means is that we are more likely to get an even handed ref display - which if you think about it is what we should expect anyway! We can be sure that we won't get any dodgy decisions go our way because a ref knows, overtly or subconsciously that they will never hear the last of it if they go against Moanrinho, and not get the big games to ref in future.
Jermaine Jenas has nicked both his best mate's job and the primary place that he thought he'd inherit on MOTD2. He's doing a far better job than Lawrenson or that pillock Savage and he's not even letting working with Garth Crooks on Football Focus put him off. Nice to see someone who seems to have a bit of affection for our club being given time as a MOTD pundit.
If we were playing at home I'd say same again but I think we should set up to pick and choose our moments a bit more carefully in this game, like at Arsenal. Hoping we'll line up with: Lloris Chiriches(if fit), Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies Eriksen, Stambouli, Bentaleb(again if fit, he's only just come back from injury) Lennon, Kane, Chadli
Updates from Poch's press conference. Apparently Adebayor and Rose are available again. Oh good. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...head-of-derby-clash-with-chelsea-9898376.html
