He literally didn't put a foot wrong and kept his head whilst others were losing theirs. Can't believe I am saying this but he would be the biggest loss (after Charlie) if he got inj/suspended.
Well not quite....after he run at, dribbled round half the Leicester team, instead of having a shot...he took on a few more players, and the moment was lost.......other than that...he didn't put a foot wrong However I do agree with this Huge loss at the moment
I don't know whether he was instructed to or not, but he seemed to leave his position in front of the back 4 a lot Saturday, which contributed significantly to Leicester having so much room when they countered dangerously time after time
Barton and Mutch didn't look like troubling him for his place in the starting line up I can't believe I'm saying it either but the team fits around him nicely and the shape is working OK He might shoot more if 17,182 people did not shout "shooooooottt" every time he got the ball !
This. His best role is sitting in front of the back four, but he didn't do this on Saturday and got stranded upfield on a few occasions.
Yep been saying it from the start he is a great player for us ... tough and disciplined and as I have said first name on the teamsheet for me ... i would go further and make him captain
It would have really capped off his match performance if he had scored on that excursion when he was clear through on goal.
He wasn't disciplined on Saturday though DT, he was all over the place. Who knows, maybe HR had decided to play without anyone sitting, but if that was the case I would rather have seen Fer in a central role. Henry has been very effective in the holding role, but he should be restricted to that imo.
I know you saw it that way mate, but I think he was definitely sitting in front of the back four, but was pulled around a fair bit due to their good play in between the lines and Barton going missing regularly. He did forage forward more than usual which maybe was an instruction or maybe he just got carried away. He's not a top class defensive midfielder but I believe he does an excellent job for us and must stay fit and selected!
On the money ... I saw a lot more of him on the highlights that suggests he was in the camera shot a lot more ... no idea why but with a game that produced that many chances maybe everything went out the window. when he does sit tight we look a lot better. I thought the Foxes ripped us apart at times It seemed desire won the day as the seemed pressure at both ends .. in a normal game Henry absorbs a lot of the play by his presence and position ... he knows exactly when to bite and has clean his game right up from his Wolves days where he was brilliant as captain. All players get caught out but Henry is the best we have at that position as we all know it takes a split second to let in the opposition. I don't think Sandro is half the player Henry is currently Fer also was right up there at times and got his goal from following up ... he is looking a real player now and excellent in the air
I think these threads are very disrespectful. One individual kept telling everyone how good he was when everyone was saying he was sh*t but people seem incapable of giving any credit at all where it is due. Its disappointing and reflects badly on the Board at large.

Bit naive mate. All you see is people's pre existing biases. Stroller, a poster I hugely respect, likes Barton. Barton was absolute cack on Saturday, even I could see that through my beer haze. Who's fault is that if you love Barton - Henry's for wandering forward on a couple of occasions. DT has always spoken up for Henry, and I must confess that I was not of the same opinion. But he fills a specific, basic, role, very well indeed, and must be pinching himself that he is playing Premiership football. And living in London. Col takes a more balanced view but has a soft spot for Hoilett, who will have played a full game in subs appearances by Christmas. Fact is all of these players (except Barton, who is the worst player ever to kick a ball at this level. Even Ozzie recognises that) are all slightly short of the full shilling. Otherwise they wouldn't be playing for QPR. My personal weaknesses are he who must not be named and Faurlin. But the only way we will ever see a really top class player (as opposed to one who is on the way down - like Rio - or those who have something major missing) is if we somehow contrive to get our dodgy squad consistently in the top 10, or (marginally more likely) we produce one through the youth set up (I know, I know don't laugh) and see him play once or twice before he is snapped up. So we have to make the best of it and support our flawed players all the way *, unless they aren't trying. Even SWP, it's not his fault he's **** it's the mugs who have bought him over the years that made us think he wasn't, whenever he's picked he tries and I find it very entertaining. * except Barton
No need for heavy stuff Sswordsy..we are all wrong and we are all right,..... some or all or most of the time. Me... I am occasionally right too. It is a board we come to chew the cud I did not think Henry would cut it,but by George he has.. but I always liked Fer, honest sort. But still waiting to be proved right about Matty Phillips.......he is not taking the challenge as much as I am. To everyone who is feeling smug I have just just one word OBZ...or is that three words. I think we had all written him off as lazy, mercenary, injury prone, waster, money grabber, leech etc etc (please enter your favourite....OBZ word here....me I always thought Andy Johnson was the better of the two I admit it) But With one kick he is a HERO who will never ever be forgotten in QPR folklore....and just to rub it in...at the moment in the twilight of his years...he is playing some excellent premiership level footy. To which on Saturday I said "We are missing OBZ a lot today" Chill out...Swordsy...we can all be right once in a while. No disrespect meant to anyone...specially not Oddball, who has a great take on OUR footy team This week, before Tuesday night...I love the RRRs...I may not be the same on Wednesday morning though
I feel sorry for any midfielder playing with Barton when he's in the mood he was for the first hour or so on Saturday. Far, far too many attempted glory passes and long range shots. Has he ever scored from 25 yards+. When he got his head out his arse and did the things he's good at- breaking up play and giving it to someone with more ability- he was good. Henry has been great all season. Player of the season so far behind Austin.
I think you'll find that quite a few agreed with Paul about Henry........me for one. Not sure I accept some of that. I support all the players in the shirt, but that doesn't mean I can't/won't/shouldn't voice an opinion on their good and bad points on a QPR forum.
I'm not sure DT craves sycophantic posts but I have no problem admitting he saw Henry's qualities well before most of us did. As Beth says, we're all right sometimes and all wrong on other occasions. There's hundreds of posters that have made a good call but don't get the recognition. This doesn't mean the that we should all perpetually wallow in how badly it reflects on the forum. As Stan says, we all have our favourites and we all have our blind spots amongst the players. That's possibly due to the wealth of extra stories and info we are furnished with by the media and the more attentive post starters. This is just as well because otherwise we could skip games and just agree that the best players are those Opta stats tell us.
