CMS apparently hasn't agreed terms with the hammers or Leicster and we are still in the running according to a report on SSN
Premier League new-boys QPR are the latest club to join the hunt for sought-after Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith. Posh bosses said the player is yet to decide where his future lies after the R's joined Leicester City and West Ham in the queue for his signature. The forward is in-demand after scoring 35 goals last season. But the Scotland international is in danger of outstaying his welcome with Peterborough eager that he goes sooner rather than later if he is going to leave. The protracted deal is holding up Peterborough's own transfer deals, and Posh director of football Fry says the situation is causing frustration at the club. He told talkSPORT: "I can tell you that the chairman Darragh MacAnthony has accepted three bids and given three clubs permission to speak to Craig and his agent, two of those clubs, West Ham and Leicester have spoken to them. "Prior to that Neil Warnock at QPR was given permission to talk to him but I haven't spoken to Craig for three days so he obviously hasn't agreed terms with West Ham or Leicester. "There are seven other bids that we've turned down that are very substantial, four other clubs have been on to me to say that they're selling their centre forward for so much and they want to put half of that into buying Craig, things like that. "We've given Craig the opportunity to speak to three clubs and as of yet he's not decided to go anywhere which is very frustrating from our point of view. "The boy scored 35 goals in the league last year, he's got 99 goals in four seasons with Peterborough, the chairman said stay another year help us get back into the Championship and we won't stand in your way. "We were hoping that he'd be gone by now because we've got targets as well that we're trying to get in."
99 goals in four years lower league football... yet Peterbro' are desperate to get rid and CMS is dithering. Someone on here said he's a short arse. Wiki gives him 5'10"... okay, not Peter Crouch but tall enough I'd have thought.
Don't want him nor do I want us to line the pockets of that letch Barry Fry. Completely unproven even at Championship level. Best left well alone imo.
Not far behind ye there Bakesy, although if COLIN sees something in him I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
He has a full season at Championship level - 10 goals in 43 games in their relegation season, would that succeed at PL level? I don't think so...
Strong rumour he's signing for Brighton today, probably his right level with a manager who'll improve him...
Exactly. Unproven at even Championship level. Decent buy at say, perhaps £1m where it would be worth the minimal risk. £4m is way too much.
We signed his strike partner in January. He got 9 goals for them the season they went down, banged them in down in L1 but looks way out of his depth even at Championship level. To stick CMS in the Premiership with a team that (no offence) is likely to struggle would be suicidal!
talkSPORTDrive talkSPORTDrive Also told Neil Warnock DEFINITELY wanted CMS but Briatore and Ecclestone blocked it. My source: "those two shouldn't be in football." =========== A prem team, losing a player they want to Brighton? Things that make you go Mmmm. PS Hello Jeff, been away?
The goons are running the club just like the team have been relegated from the premiership Maybe they are 1 step ahead of the rest of us (or 1 year)
afternoon northolt, no not yet early august, had no computers at work for nealy two weeks f in nightmare apparently virus like our club has. don't have laptop at home bad enough working on these during the day.
