Player ratings - Sunderland 0 Chelsea 0 SUNDERLAND reporter Chris Young gives his verdict after the Black Cats became only the third team this season to take points off Premier League leaders Chelsea. Pantilimon 8 - Deceptively good save to keep out Ivanovic shot in Chelseaâs one real genuine opportunity. Second clean sheet in a row and really starting to dominate his area. Vergini 8 - For the second weekend in a row had Sunderland fans chanting his name after a couple of eye-catching mazy dribbles. Came closest to finding the net for the hosts, and most importantly subdued Hazard. OâShea 8 - Arguably producing the best football of his Sunderland career. Kept the defensive line immaculately in place and produced a stunning last-gasp challenge when Costa threatened to go through on goal. Brown 8 - Couple of nervy clearances in the opening 10 minutes, but seemed to be everywhere in intercepting Chelseaâs second half attacks. Reveillere 8 - Still hard to believe how well the 35-year-old has adapted after five months out of the game. Positionally superb and nice to see a full-back concentrating on the basics of stopping crosses coming into the box. CATTERMOLE 9 - Blocked, tackled, harried and never gave Chelsea the opportunity to find space on the edge of the Sunderland area. SURELY Roy Hodgson must start having a look. Larsson 8 - Not far behind Cattermole in his contribution after a workaholic display closing down Chelseaâs midfielders. One blemish was several poor deliveries from set pieces. Rodwell 7 - Just starting to get into the game when he was surprisingly withdrawn. His relatively fresh legs will be needed against his former club on Wednesday though (Gomez 6 - Could feel aggrieved at being dropped to the bench, but threatened to create an opening in the dying stages). Johnson 6 - Kept under wraps well by Azpilicueta, but came closest to grabbing a winner when he fired wide with his weaker right foot. Wickham 8 - Sunderlandâs most threatening attacker and a constant outlet to relieve the defensive pressure. Got the better of Ivanovic. Fletcher 6 - Stifled by Terry and never really had a sniff (Altidore 7 - Unsettled the Chelsea defence and came close to grabbing a winner when he almost scrambled the ball home. CHELSEA: Courtois 7, Ivanovic 6, Cahill 7, Terry 7, Azpilicueta 8, Matic 8, Fabregas 6, Willian 7, Oscar 6 (Drogba 7), Hazard 7, Costa 6 (Remy 5).
wickham for me,well he was almost adult .......he played a role in perfection to what he was asked to do in a side which if carries on like this could be safe from relegation with a month to spare ...glory ,glory gus be praised indeed .
