Heading down to Fairyhouse where there's some very interesting beasts unleashed. ALLEZ COLOMBIERES has been a huge talking horse. The fact he's running first time out in this Grade One race, shows he must be very near, if not at the top, of Mullins pecking order. I see he's 5/6, that doesn't interest me on a horse who ain't jumped a hurdle in public but I may change my mind dependent on how things go. Already on him for the Supremes at 16s, I hope the hype is right. Without doubt the best race on the card is the Drinmore won by the Don last year beating Roads to Riches. I'm a big TULLOW TANK fan and I've backed him at 2/1 today. He looks a proper JLT horse and he'll be cut for that if he wins as well tomorrow as I think he can. Good luck
At the prices I'll be backing Apache Stronghold in the Drinmore. His hurdle form is close to The Tullow Tank's on a line through Vautour and he was just as impressive on chase debut. It's a very strong renewal, no doubt about that, so I'll be looking to get a bit of 5s e/w for a classic "bet to nothing". He'll probably fecking fall now I've said that
The forum's second-favourite trainer, the good Doctor Newland, has an interesting hurdle debutant in the Carlisle 12.50 - Ebony Express won 6 times on the flat for Alan Swinbank, including impressive victories on soft and heavy ground. If his schooling has gone well he could give Brian Ellison's jolly something to think about in receipt of 7lbs. Bits of 6/1 flying around.
Beat me to the punch with this one odddy. Taken 6/1 and rather cowardly backed it each way.....if Nass is around I would like to say that it almost looks an each way bet to nothing.......
2.15 Leics - Rock On Rocky- 7/2 Good win lto at Chepstow in similar conditions that was only on Monday so connections must feel he is in the same mood and working well at home which is if he he 4lb rise for that win he should be able to brush aside
2:05 Fairyhouse - Valseur Lido 7/2 Brilliant race in prospect. As impressive as The Tullow Tank was last time, I was equally impressed by Valseur Lido and at the prices, is the one that stands out for me. TTT is a fantastic contender, doing nothing but impressing and time may tell he is the better animal. For today though I'm taking a chance on VL to further enhance the good record of Gigginstown runners in this race.
Done a lucky 15 at Fairyhouse to add a bit of interest (which isn't at all necessary, cos it's a fecking brilliant card ): 12.30 Kalkir 13.00 Allez Colombieres 13.30 Zaidpour 14.05 Apache Stronghold Feck me that 6/1 is long gone on Ebony Express, could only get 3/1 BOG with my bookmaker of choice
