"The Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Seko Fofana.

The 19-year-old will remain at Fulham on a youth loan deal until Saturday 31st January 2015.

A French youth international, Fofana arrived at the Etihad in 2013 from Lorient and went on to establish himself as a key member of Patrick Vieira’s Elite Development Squad, making 35 appearances in 2013/14.

A box-to-box midfield player, he has continued to be a mainstay in the team this season and featured in City’s 2-0 win over Fulham Under-21s at Motspur Park in early October."

A Sidwell-type to bolster the midfield?

At least we know Kit is trying to address the shortfall in midfield, not an overwhelming signing by any means but an extra body at least. I trust Kit knows the lad's abilities and believes he's good enough.

Hopefully this is a big bonus of Kit having been u21 manager, he will know all the stars of the u21 league and there is a chance that there are a lot of quality players in city's reserve team who are good enough to okay but just are not getting a chance

If he can step up then looks like he could be a good addition and give us three centre mids with some bite and skill.

I don't know what to make of this one. I'd have preferred a more experienced signing, but I know very little about this lad. It's either a tidy bit of business or a waste of a loan slot. Let's wait and see him in action before deciding either way.

My choice as a versatile player who maybe could adapt to an attacking full back is Freddie Pumain, very speedy
well built 6 footer who when I have seen him in the U 21 squad tracks back to a defensive roll very quickly.
and is not afraid to tackle both forward and backwards
