    In Carr we trust?

Over in Norway, there are reports of Newcastle scouts watching Stephane Badji in recent matches with the possibility of a January transfer.

The twenty four year old midfielder currently plays for Brann in Norway and having spent two and a half years playing there after moving from Senegal, he is still yet to score a goal, though he has picked up seventeen yellow cards.

The Senegal international is 6ft 3 tall and with his lack of goals and regular yellow cards, it isn’t hard to see who he might remind you of in the current Newcastle set-up.

Despite United currently appearing to have any number of options in midfield, Mike Ashley has shown in the past that he finds it hard to look past a bargain, even if it isn’t an area of the squad that desperately needs strengthening.

In Stephane Badji’s case, it has now been made public that he has a £750,000 buy-out clause in his contract, something that would no doubt make the Newcastle owner’s eyes light up if the scouting reports suggest he has the ability to make it in the Premier League.

Other Premier League clubs such as West Brom and Sunderland are also reported to have watched the Senegal midfielder.

Badji hasn’t featured in recent Senegal squads which makes it likely he won’t feature in the African Cup of Nations finals in the new year, though that would surely be unlikely to be a factor in any transfer decision as you couldn’t expect him to make an instant transition into the Premier League to cover Tiote and Abeid’s likely absence for up to six weeks.

There's nothing in the OP to fill me with any excitement. However, if Carr believes he can be adequate squad cover at DM then based on past experience I'd be happy to go along with 'In Carr we trust.'

Apparently Greame Onions (cricketer) has a sister who is currently dating this chap.
If they marry she has said she will keep both surnames so will be known as Onions-Badji.

Sounds like a cheap option while Tiote is away.

Cobras to all of you, I'm not cumin on here just out of spice or to curry flavour because it's the seasoning of goodwill, and that's for starters.

Dave Whelan apparently broke his leg in a cup final after a dodgy phal.
