Barnet have now lost 3 of the last 10 games. The next three teams including The Gas have only lost 1 in 10...

That was another great night. Thought we dealt with the threat of Akinde really well...

McChrystal had Agent Akinde in his pocket!

Great result, great night and fantastic to see Angelo Balanta get on the pitch and score on his debut!

It's a bit of a shame to lose to the scummers tonight.

But 46 points from 23 games is an excellent return. Another 46 points from the next 23 games and we'll be Champions. No doubt about that, none of the other teams in this league will better 92 points this season.

Really looking forward to Saturday and the opportunity to knock Macclesfield out of their stride. Charlie MacDonald hat-trick?

Agreed but unfortunately we seem to be losing our belief that we have a right to beat teams at the top end of the table.

Woking we were fortunate to get away with it, tonight we got punished.

Also, I hope Akinde gets booked sooner rather than later as he must be starting to get burnt out. Let him have a rest as a supercharged Akinde is absolutely crucial if we're going to get another 46 points.

Sorry to be negative but to me that last minute goal marks a gut wrenching shift in momentum, and the last team we wanted to surrender the initiative to was Bristol Rovers.

    Definition of scummers;

The first recorded use of the word scummer dates back to 1585. It referred to one who scours the sea, a rover or a pirate. For many years it was a nickname for pirates or buccaneers. Then in the twentieth century football fans, especially fans of small clubs, began to use it for their rivals. Nowadays, Luton fans use it as a nickname for Watford, as do Grimsby fans for Hull.

I don't think Barnet will keep up the momentum. I reckon The Macc Lads will take something from them because they are the form team and it's going to be a bit of a scrap down to the wire. I fancy our chances...

I think Barnet up to now have had a great season but they have had everything go their way. They have been playing well and scoring goals, goals and more goals. But it hasnt got them that far ahead of the group of teams behind them. They are yet to hit a bad patch in form like the teams below may have had. When they do hit a pad patch, it will be squeeky bum time for them. I mean, we havent played well but have still managed to get results in the process while struggling to score goals. Once it all clicks into place for us where we will be free scoring, we along with other teams like us in the chasing pack will overtake Barnet and fight it out near the top come the end of the season. As long as each player keeps fighting and giving 100% for every single game. We do have enough about us to be in the top 5. That is evident by the fact that we are there now! If we keep giving it our all, things will eventually go our way with regards to scoring goals.

Im making an early prediction now that Barnet wont make the top 5. We will.

Ooh, thats a bit bold, I have a feeling that they will definately be in the shake up at the end of this season but I am with you in thinking that they will not finish on top of the pile, they are going to get reigned in.

Barnet will definitely be in the shake up, but they'll probably go the way of many front runners and narrowly miss out on the automatic slot. They would still be in with a shout in the playoffs because they're strong contenders...

I think they will lose momentum and gradually decline. I only think they will drop out of the players come the end of the season is due to so many teams in the chasing pack. There is 8 points between 2nd and 11th. Teams will drop away of course but not all will.

It's the age old problem of showing your hand too early. Other teams suss out how to negate the strong points of the front runner and probably pass info on to other clubs who can cause them problems. Our neighbours seem to be suffering from the same difficulty.

The other thing to consider of course is that Barnet have always been blessed with 'bringing in' {On Loan} some good young talent due to their close proximity to Spurs and the Arsenal and if they start to fall away I can probably see this happening again, three young lads in from The Emirates and they could be out of site by the time the eggs are on the shelves !
