Ok lads and lassies, we're getting pretty desperate here. We're bottom of the league and to take our minds off of this until Saturday, I propose this...

One song, book and film to take to the Island of I'Ranger out in the middle of the Pacific for a week.

    Moon River,

Bread Upon the Waters by Irwin Shaw

    and

    Django Unchained

Just a week Nines? I'd be tempted to try a complete modern world detox, take nothing. But if you insist, and just for the week:

    Bang Bang - the Raconteurs

The Devil in the White City - Erik Larsen (its the Chicago White City, not the W12 one)

    Grand Budapest Hotel

For an stay of unknown duration:

In My Time of Dying - Led Zep

Complete Short Stories - JG Ballard

    Withnail and I

    Which Castaway film though??

The 1986 film starring Amanda Donohoe and Oliver Reed... or... the 2000 film starring Tom Hanks.

There's quite a difference in the survival 'tips' in each film.... <laugh>

Book - Count of Monte Christo
Film - For a Few Dollars More
Song - On an Island With You (Shed Seven)

Would have gone for Usual Suspects (my stock film when I'm feeling ill or don't know what to watch) but I suddenly realised how much is comprised of hot air.

SYNOPSIS (WARNING, MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS) - Boat without drugs on gets blow up. Man gets arrested nearby, chats to cop (all made up). Man gets released and it turns out that either him or Pete Postlethwaite might be some bloke who may or may not exist.
