Why has Arrys whole mentality changed since he came to us?!!!! Ok at Spurs he had some players but was never frightened of teams. HE IS NOW and the performance yesterday was similar to earlier away ones (not as bad but no penetration).

I think he also needs some Maths lessons on how to get to 40 points or high 30s as thinking that away v the geordies is a bonus game if we get anything is a joke.......It definitely rubs off on the players and I worry that we will never go into an away game thinking we could win!!!..........

Come on Arry which teams SHOULD we beat and how do we get enough points for safety?!!!

Love the spat between Queens and Swords. But I'm with Queenslander on this one. Now much as I'd love to welcome you all onto the Harry out bandwagon I was delighted to join two years ago do tell us all which of the 7 games away from home we should have won so far but for the tactics. Naivety and stubbornness on here is just as tedious as it is when it comes from Redknapp's mouth. I reckoned we had a chance against West Ham and Newcastle but that was about it. We got nothing from either game but let's not forget both are playing way beyond their own supporters' expectations at the moment. To answer the last comment from 40 years etc etc if we can get 30 points at home this season that gives us a fighting chance. It's not that impossible in this League. Can we get 8 or 9 wins at home this season and a handful of draws? I would have thought so. The target has to be at least 10 points away this season. There are 10 teams by my reckoning who will be in the lower half of the table (I think that's right )and we ain't played any of them away yet.

I've been accused in the past of giving in when there is still plenty to play for but most of you need a reality check if you really think we are already at the crisis stage where nothing short of winning the games against Leicester and Burnley will do. Where are the Leicester boys at the moment anyway? They've been pretty quiet lately

Can you imagine what it will be like on here if we lose against Leicester? Come to that it'll be rough for me as I'm coming down with a mate who's a Leicester ST holder and one of his Foxy pals. Liquids will have to be consumed to dull the pain. Or celebrate. Perhaps its not so bad after all.

You are duly recognised as a founder member of the Redknapp Out (or more accurately Please Not Redknapp) Tendency, Yorkshire.

The problem with Leicester and Burnley is if we can't beat them and, worse still, lose to them we'll be really on a downward spiral. We can't seem to get any momentum going and that really helps.

I remember when we won the five home games in a row to stay up we'd all but given up yet Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs were among our scalps, we need something like that again especially if we continue to gift our away games...

As much as I wish that Harry had retired straight after the play off final, sacking him now is not the answer. If we are still bottom in January, well that is when TF has a tough decision to make.

For me Harry has shown an almost complete lack of tactical awareness, playing 4 CM's for gods sake with wide men on the bench. However the previous games against the top sides does show that the players can do it, but the big question is can they do it against the bottom sides and does Harry have the nous to set the team up in a sensible way, away as well as at home.

Everyone could see that there was no outlet in the side yesterday, apart from the punt up to OBZ.

Hoilett or Traore on the left would have been so much better than Fer on the left. If Harry continues to play him there I will be driven to distraction!!

Stroller, thats the only credible answer I have heard. Agreed.

Im not so sure Harry has that much input anyway TBH. Personally i'd give him the season to save us and his own reputation.
He was smart enough to ask for help from Maclaren when HE needed it, so lets give him the benifit of the doubt and assume he'll do (or already is doing) the same with Hoddle and Ferdi.

As far as i can see, there are no other serious contenders for the position mid season. <ok>

I find it funny when we were playing well it was every body else but Redknapp influence. Now we lose again it back to blaming Redknapp. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
It does seem to be we have played the best we have in years and only got 4 points out of our last 5 games. But if we get back to playing like we did before the break we should happily beat Leicester and Burnley.

Have to say Stan that was a very restrained OP, I was expecting both barrels to be unloaded.......fair play for keeping the expletives in check!!!!!

We are now effectively one third through the season and 8 points is not good, but in all honesty how many more points did anyone think we would have, 4 or 5 maybe. Generally I believe our home form has been fairly good, 2 unfortunate defeats, 2 wins and 2 decent draws, it is the away form that is the worry and there was nothing shown last Saturday at Newcastle to suggest that we will pick up any points soon, we have to show some ambition and that has to come from Harold with his team selection, you can not set up hoping for a 0-0 and then try to chase a game when going behind especially in the last 10 minutes or so, teams know how to close out a game.....

The next 2 home games are must wins against Leicester and Burnley, otherwise we really will be in the doggy doos, so Harold now is the time to earn your not insubstantial salary, get the team selection right and give it a go, would rather go down trying instead of the lame way we did last time....

Thank you for recognising the restraint, it's about time the medication kicked in. Truth be told I thrive on live football, in the flesh, and its been quite a log time since I've seen us play, the passion is dulled a little. Also you get a more balanced view looking over a block of games than diving into the fray after each performance. I'll be back with more after the Palace game. Still no 'must win' individual games for me, but we do need to get close to back on track, which means 3 wins from the next five. A tall order on the evidence so far.

The way we play away is a big worry though. Newcastle aren't a great team, they just have good confidence at the moment. Nothing we did was ever going to dent that confidence - if we go on like this we might sneak one or two draws but nowt else. Then you can see us going gung ho against a few fellow strugglers and cocking up big time. A clear way of playing, slightly altered for the away games, based on the good stuff we did against City, must be the way forward. Plus putting players in their best positions. Isla is a right wing back/midfielder not a full back, Vargas a central attacker, Fer a number 10 (we have options there). If Henry and Sandro play, Sandro has to have licence to get forward. Hoilett is the only obvious player to put in front of Yun. I still think we have better personnel for a 3-5-2 but don't expect to see that again.

My main, niggling worry is that we're doing OK but gave everyone a seven game headstart. OK, we got half our points from that but we put ourselves on the back foot in the process.

Redknapp is doing fine at the moment and we definitely should stick. However, I think Stroller's demand of 11 from 7 is about fair (I'd be a bit more flexible).

If we're on 15 or less at the halfway stage though, a lack of alternatives is not an excuse for dropping limply out of the league for the second time under the same man (especially given the backing he's had).

I'd rather see a wet-behind-the-ears Derry get us relegated than a nowhere-to-go-but-retirement Redknapp. Even if it's not better, it's trying something and not taking it as a resigned fact.

That said, hopefully, we'll be sat on 20 points at Christmas and all acknowledging the fine work of the current regime.

I'm with you on that Stan. Isla & Yun as wing backs, with Vargas either in the front two or playing behind them ahead of the two sitting. We may even have five players capable of getting into the opponents penalty area as well!

Doing fine given that we gave the rest of the league a seven game start is what I meant.
