    In has been revealed in France that our £7.5m bid will be delayed until Leonardo is confirmed as their new Director of Sport.

    Newcastle continue de recruter en Ligue 1. Le club du nord de l’Angleterre, qui s’est déjà attaché les services de Yohan Cabaye, en provenance de Lille, et de Sylvain Marveaux, en fin de contrat à Rennes, souhaiterait ajouter un autre joueur « made in France » à son effectif. Ainsi, RMC révèle ce dimanche que les Magpies auraient transmis une offre de 7,5 millions d’euros au Paris Saint-Germain pour l’attaquant Mevlut Erding. L’international turc ne tient pas à quitter le PSG, mais ne rentre plus vraiment dans les plans du club de la capitale, qui a déjà recruté le Lorientais Kévin Gameiro, et pourrait faire venir d’autres attaquants avec l’arrivée de Leonardo au poste de directeur sportif dans la semaine. L’offre de Newcastle sera de toute façon bloquée jusqu’à l’intronisation officielle du Brésilien.

    Hopefully, if they plan to add more strikers surely it means they don't see a future with Erding

    Good news in that it means our bid hasn't been rejected out of hand. Just hope the guy gets on the job asap so we can get our man.

    They've got new Qatari owners and are now the Man City of France ... they'll be looking to buy Ligue 1 with bigger names

    He's not 'not good enough' for them, and besides PSG have quite a lot of money and by the looks of it want to win Ligue 1 next season and progress in the Champions League, that doesn't mean that Erdinc isn't a good player, just not the sort of player to lead PSG into a new era of trophy winning..

    It's like how Bellamy wasnt good enough for Man City, they want world class players. Doesnt mean he isnt good.

    I have to sort of agree with this sentiment. However Ben Arfa was deemed, somehow, surplus to Marseille's requirements last year.

    For a start it's good news because I didn't even know we had made a bid, I thought it was just interest/gossip. At least we're bidding for players of his calibre as opposed to the Carlton Cole variety.

    I'm happy with the wingers to be honest, wrap up Erdinc and Taylor and we'll have done alright IMO.
