Sparkey I agree re his Grandad image the reality is he couldn't care less what he says or what he does.
in the current climate when ukip is gaining ground (not my cup of tea party types tbh), im suprised there is so much of an out-cry at some racism being muted about........................................ the trouble with people today is common sense isnt that common anymore, so there lives hypocrisy of human nature in a big square box with a sign handle with care on it
Aber! All part of a faux moral crusade by a morally bankrupt british media if you ask me. Tell people what they must think, repeat it enough times with distorted quotes and headlines and eventually it becomes ingrained in their sheep brains in the end.
Fosse - I just wish Tan would keep his trap shut just for once. His comments are pointless - he's got enough pressure groups on the case. They're effectively doing his dirty work for him.
Vincent Tan: "The FA must understand that the whole world is watching." ... sorry to disillusion you Mr Tan but I suspect that for 'whole world' you could substitute 'fans of clubs that Malky has actually managed or played for and the PC brigade' ... frankly I'm more interested in whether the Irish hotty in 'I'm A Celebrity ..." will attempt to wear the bikini she has made out of plants whilst showering
Each to their preference snlk ... rest assured that I would stand up to protect your rights (although arguably not in the way that would most interest you)
The comments are pointless, but it was inevitable Tan would comment on his appointment. The fact Whelan has managed to f** up the PR on this on such an epic scale was an open goal for Tan. It's got nothing to do with our club so I'd much prefer Tan stay out of it, but this is obviously very personal for Tan.
I wonder if Malky will come to regret joining Wigan - it's obvious that Whelan isn't going to help his rehabilitation. There again, it might only have been an owner like Whelan who in reality doesn't give a toss that would take him on at this stage with Malky still under investigation by the FA. All we need now is for Whelan to appoint Moody as his head of recruitment and buy Cornelius for £8M.............
This ultra pc nonsense really gets to me. Whelan is right in saying what most people over 30 think. He is being chastised for having the balls to say it. Do we cry foul when we are called Taffs? If you take the pi$$ out of someone then you are bullying. Get a life you miserable self centered pc twats. Malky's crime in this respect was to vet caught. Hands up those who have never sent an e mail or text which could be considered non pc. I thought so, not many and those with hands up are liars.
Sort of agree, but..... First of all because everyone does it doesn't mean it's right (I work in Transport and it's the probably only beaten to the least PC sector/industry by building). Secondly the more into the public eye you move the better you have to be. Most women wouldn't meet the exacting standards set by magazines as they photograph celebs and declare them ridiculous/tasteless/obese. Whilst Politicians are shot down for the most benign comments. Football did have a racism issue, to some extent it probably still does. If managers and chairmen can use that type of language then the whole 'kick it out' campaign along with any other attempts to improve that aspect of the game is totally flawed. I know MM was exposed by conversations that were supposed to be private as he's far too media aware to ever make a mistake like that in public. I mentioned in another comment that players are not judged by managers standards. In the same way whether fans have sent/received racist anti-Semitic texts is not really relevant. I don't get paid a seven figure salary to work in a sport I love, therefore I'm not under this level of scrutiny. I don't think that MM is the devil for sending those texts (just for his transfer dealings ), I don't think Whelan is some kind of KKK/Britain first type knuckle head either. I think Whelan is basically just an old northerner who was 'telling it like it is', the problem is in the same way I'm sure he's adapted to make the successes he has in business he needs to realise the level of world wide scrutiny placed on England's top 2 leagues. He needs to adapt or shut up and let someone more media aware do the talking on such sensitive comments. We've got a similar problem with Tan, he feeds the media huge amounts of ammunition normally inflaming situations he thinks he's making better.
