Chelsea defender excited by promotion push.

Todd Kane says he’s honoured to be given the opportunity to aid City’s promotion push.

The Chelsea defender has joined the club on loan until January 18th 2015 and made his debut as a second-half substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Swindon Town.

Kane remains extremely positive despite the setback on debut and told Bristol City Player: “I’m honoured to have joined Bristol City – it’s a great club.

“It happened so quick; I met up with the lads on Friday and trained with them for the first time.

“I want to take this opportunity to show what I can do and help Bristol City.

“It was disappointing to lose the first game, especially given the circumstances of the early red card, but I think the spirit of the players was there for all to see.

“I know it’s only my first game but you could see the desire and the attitude of the boys. It’s a great team and there’s a fantastic work ethic throughout the club.

“I don’t see this as coming down to a League One club; this is a Championship club and you can see that from the results.

“Every player wants to win silverware and the goal here is to win the league.

“The lads are passionate and so is the manager. I spoke to family and friends about the move but I jumped at the chance to come here.

“I’ve always classed myself as a right wing-back and given the formation the manager plays here, it really suits my game.”

Hope the team for Preston is (assuming Wade suspended) :

    Fielding.
    Ayling,Flint,Williams.
    Kane,Smith,Pack,Freeman,Bryan.
    Agard, Wilbraham.

Kane has to be better than Wagstaff.

Yes - team picks itself (with a little help from RP. Cotts must be so very glad you're here).
No avoiding the fact though that Wags hit one of our best goals in a while a few weeks back

I also agree with RP's team.

Tough on Wagstaff, but i don't see him as a wing back

Agree with that side- If Kane is here on a short term loan, and clearly cover for Little, it would be sensible to use him.

Pack a clear replacement for Elliott assuming ban still stands-

Well we all agree with RP, but that's not hard, in reality the team picks itself.

If Burns and Osborne are still out, be interesting to see who subs are in addition to Richards, JET, Wagstaff, El Abd, and Cunningham-

Wynter would be one, guess Reid the other.

What's the story with Little though? Maybe his injury is more serious than we originally thought?

It is reported to be a hamstring and we all know that the worst thing to do, is to rush a player back too soon.
Kane gives Mark Little the opportunity to get back to full fitness without risk.
    A good move by SC.

fantastic to see such a quick response by getting cover in, and any player from the best club in the country must be half-decent.
I do so like the way we are doing things quickly and with quality this year. If we want to be the best we have to buy and loan the best.
    Keep it up Steve.
