    Good Morning Everyone,

It has now been six months since David Haigh was arrested and detained by police in Dubai, and still no charges have been made.

Love him or hate him for what he has done or not done to our great club, I ask you whether its right to detain a manin prison without being charged for anything.

Here are some of the facts of the case :-

    i) A leading handwriting expert has examined the documents concerned and have said unequivocally that these invoices and transfers supposedly created by Haigh, comprise nothing less than conclusive evidence of 'mass fabrication'.

ii) They do not contain Haigh's genuine signature or on occasions that of the second signatory. "GFH bases most of its allegations against Haigh on a report commissioned by them from a Gulf-based accountant called Sajjad Haider.

ii) Forensic investigators from Price Waterhouse Coopers have examined what purport to be the findings of that report. "PWC's conclusions, which Haigh has now received are unequivocal. They say the Haider report on which the GFH allegations are based provides NO evidence that I either created false invoices or diverted GFH money into accounts controlled by him.

Is six months enough time to examine, question and charge a suspect?

Should anybody (except perhaps terror suspects) be held in a foreign prison for six months without charge?

Could that EVER happen in the UK?

If it were to happen in the UK, what would be the public conception?

AND THE BIGGEST QUESTION, I'M SURE WE ALL WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT DOES HAIGH KNOW ABOUT GFH? ARE THEY TRYING TO KEEP HIM QUIET?

    Morning Elland,

No its not right to bang someone up for six months and not charge him, but you play with fire and eventually you will get burnt.

Morning all, different country different rules, but its outrageous. I suspect very few of us know the facts of the case nor much about the reality of haye's tenure at leeds... What he knew what he didn't... beyond a smug demeanour. He could be guilty as hell or completely innocent for all I know, but 6 months without charge? Just wrong... and the fact people don't like him doesn't make it right.

Morning Milky, all I know is, if there was evidence, he would have been charged a loooonnngg time ago. Price Waterhouse Cooper are as reputable as they come

Is this info coming from haigh, elland? I don't doubt the integrity of pwc's forensic accountants but without seeing the actual report, there is the possibility that haigh is being selective with his extracts!

Morning all. Certainly not right anyone can be imprisoned for that length of time without charge. However, I dont care one iota what happens to him and my only regret is the rest of the gfh team are not in prison with him. Who knows, might happen yet <ok>

Hi Milky, this is one of the sources :-

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/former-leeds-chief-david-haigh-4318060

Believe me, if it was not true, a company like Price Waterhouse would want to distance themselves from his comments immidiately....

Good morning to Matt and co from a very misty Cote de Bardsey
Thank you for your concern Matt my wife will not know her results for a week you would think in this day of age that they could email her findings to her GP straightaway
Haighdoes not deseve to be locked up for any amount of time without being charged but this is the price you pay when you sell your sole to the devil
Still no news on loans in or out I expect we will do them all in the last minute
I would probably let Thompson go out on loan as well to see if he does develope

One thing i can vouch for Milkyboy is the crime rate out here is very very low, the cops do not have any laurels, and if you have done wrong they keep you banged up till court hearing, dont want you going on walk about, like the idiots we have back home or should we call them do gooders who allow them bail then they abscond, tbh tho i dont give a toss over Haigh, bet he does not go down this track again.

    Morning all <ok>

It isn't fair that Haigh is locked up without charge regardless of what we think of him, but I can see where a lot of you are coming from on the "play with fire, get your fingers burnt" angle.

Match Thread incoming this afternoon <cheers>

Have you noticed how none of Haigh's Tory Party chums have tried to help him?

The point is until there's a trial, we don't know if he's done wrong. I understand people's frustrations with what can seem like a soft system over here. People don't like him, fair enough. I don't have an opinion on him one way or another because all I've heard is rumour and conjecture, he said, she said.

I know someone who was locked up for a fair while on a trumped up charge in a foreign jail. It wasn't nice to see what it did to him. Innocent until proven guilty I say, and if he is innocent, he's lost 6 months and counting off his life, plus the stress.

If they have a case, charge him and try him.

The longer it goes on, the dodgier it looks to me.

If there's decent evidence, surely he would have been charged by now.

Like him or loathe him, it stinks.
