Having watched the second half, Aldershot took complete control, and thoroughly deserved the win. I liked the look of Dan Holman who is on loan from Colchester - looks a darn sight better than what we have currently got in our squad. Awfs needs to bring in someone who can/wants to score goals in the January transfer window.
Who the hell is coaching the strikers/forwards ? Is anyone coaching them? We're gash in the final third.
Been asking that question mate for a long time........dont get me wrong, I like awfs, I appreciate what he did last season, but bloody hell, 0-0 half time against non league players.......and he leaves the first sub of a non injured player to 82 mins, changes both strikers and gives the subs 8 mins to rectify what the other ten could not do in 82 mins.........why?
and wallace...........jeez, no club above L2 will come in for him in January.....no danger of that.......and if they do he can GO!
We are desperately missing James Dunne, bp. Nigel Atangana seems disinterested to my mind. Wish Wes Fogden was nearing fitness. We could do with a Michael Brown type figure in midfield.
Bloody hell guys what the hell happened.......Pompey can play better than that surely.......some of your lads need a big kick up the posteria. Lack lustre is an understatement. If your manager doesn't get hold of these guys soon you could find yourself in all sorts of bother with displays like that.
Foggy is desperately missed, but heard this avo he wont be back until at least end of feb........Antangana I feel would come god if he was given a run, but just as players seem to get going awfs drops them........I struggle with the notion after +20 League games and several but not enough cup games, Awfs does not know who is his preferred 11 and what formation to play..............
What to do with the blank weekend now? Take a leaf out of Manchester United's book and arrange a lucrative friendly in Asia, eh?
Very disappointed we have lost the chance to get drawn against you this season. Still I am looking forward to sb3 match report.
In all seriousness it appears Pompey are going to be at this level for some time and or until the scouting system is improved and you get better quality players in to replace the current crop. After all you cannot create a silk purse out of a sow's ear!! Do Pompey seriously scour talent in the London area where there must be loads of players who are skillful and hungry rather than sign on a series of has-beens like Shorey, Westcarr et al?
On the News site there are the usual calls for A.A.'s head. I do not think we should give up on him yet. Also this is a very bad time of year to change managers. Before acting in the transfer window a manager needs a good knowledge of the abilities of his existing squad. A new manager, however good, would not have sufficient time to assess his current players. I thought we made a similar timing mistake last year when Barker was appointed (not that I think that was a good appointment anyway).
We would be lucky to be able to arrange a friendly against Gosport Borough reserves, the way we are playing at the moment, Ides.
what will happen now.....is Awfs will sanction yet another player lock down to the press, he will come out with some dribble about how the players did not perform, how he takes the blame as manager, he will get them fired up for Morecombe, which we will win.....just.....then it will all go quite again until the next disaster! I have said it before, getting rid of Awfs is not the answer, bringing in a more experienced coach and a better striker coach/ accessor is.........There is something seriously not right on that training pitch!
