Last night the lad proved again that he can make (and even score goals) against tough international opposition. He is arguably our most creative player and we need creativity!

On the other hand he was again far from convincing in his defensive duties and was responsible for England's second goal. Pundits also remarked on his height being a problem.

Is his natural position on the left of midfield / should Bruce try to convert him with Brady taking the left-back slot?

But Brady appears to work the defensive job better.

Play them both in a 4-4-2 they will interchange nicely as they are both equally as good attacking and defending this would keep the opposition guessing.

I think it's a good question, Craig. My thoughts are that the lad should control where he plays. There were those, who, for arguable reasons, did not want him to play last night, whereas I and others argued that he should play, my thinking was and is that it is critical to his development. I did add the thought that I thought he might leave a backdoor open for us and I believe he did.
When I look at how far Robbo has come in a very short time, it convinces me he is a quick learner; he is also strong on the ball and his game will progress with the challenges he faces. I heard the concerns about his height and I call bull****, I like the lad a great deal, he is wonderfully patriotic, fantastically motivated and he is ours - bloody hell, he really is!! Keep playing him as a LB and allow him to learn the role at the top level - as a twenty year old - isn't that bloody great!
Robbie Brady is a different matter. I believe him to be a true LM and a real attacking threat - when he has his best game. Unfortunately, for Robbie, he is black or white, no grey. He is on form, his class is shining through, this means his confidence will carry him through searing runs at defences and the opportunities that set pieces will offer.
They have the energy and guile to be a real top-notch partnership, one of them just needs to remember to drop the latch on the backdoor.

Perhaps he was at fault for England opener and should have stayed with the Ox as he ran into the box to collect Wilshire's pinpoint cross. But he'll learn. As for blaming him for the 2nd goal that's ridiculous. It came at him at such speed he hardly had any time to move his feet and the ball cannoned off him and fell to Rooney. He's going to improve continually both with his defensive and attacking qualities and my only hope is that he's here long enough for us all to enjoy.

Height doesn't really matter in midfield. Look at Maradona and Messi, not exactly giants. He has youth on his side, and is learning all the time. May prove one of our best buys yet.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen all that much of him.

But, from the selected pieces I have seen, he looks pretty decent. You can't really go wrong for £3m these days, but you've still got yourselves a bargain. <ok>

I advised my mate to get him in his FPL team, he seems good for an assist or a goal!

I heard a rumour that he has a buy out clause of 30+ million. Does anyone know if this is true?
As for the question. That maybe a good idea playing him Left mid, and let him get forward more. He is making progress every game he plays in my opinion, and soon will be the rounded player we see glimpses of. His defensive qualities are questionable sometimes though, but Glen Johnson (Liverpool & England) is in the same category and look at his career.

You seriously think a Hull City player might have a £30m buy-out clause in his contract? <doh>

It doesnt matter if he has, there's no way in a million years we'd turn down £29million.

    We wouldnt turn down £20million.

Exactly thats why i asked. Because it'd be hard to turn down 10 in my opinion. But these offers will come rolling in i believe at the end of the season if his progression at the rate he currently is continues.

We should turn down anything less than Luke Shaw. Even if it's a penny less.

Not sure if you are getting confused with the other Dundee United lad Ryan Gauld who went to Sporting Lisbon, he is rumoured to have 60m euro buyout clause.
