In a normal Premier League season there will be twists and turns and nothing is set in stone until quite late in the season.

At this point Chelsea seem to be running away with it with predictions of an unbeaten season and lots of superior attitudes from some fans.

Do you think that you are untouchable at the moment and that you will win the league easily or will there be a point where some injuries to key players or a slump in form enables others to catch up?

Gap is only eight points to City, of course they will close it at some stage and maybe even overtake us.

Especially if they get eliminated from Europe and focus on the league

At this stage I can only see it being between us and City - but Liverpool proved last year that nothing is certain.

We're in a good spell and City are in a bad spell so everyone is looking at us as Champions elect. However 1 result and things can change quickly. If we lost at the weekend and the gap went down to 5 points then pressure would start to mount etc. We are also notoriously inconsistent over this time of the year so we will drop points in the coming weeks I'm sure. As above, City will soon be out of the C.L and will concentrate on the league where as we will try and juggle both. Could be telling come Feb/March time.

11 games in is nothing. If we have an 8 point gap with 11 to go I'll be happy :)

I'm optimistic that Jose's brilliance will secure the title despite the fact that City's squad is superior.

In terms of age and development our players are improving though, whereas some of City's are already at their peak. But Mangela and Fernando could yet make a difference.

I'm not sure City's squad is stronger but they have Aguero whose probably the best player in the league at the moment. He's been vital for them this year where as I think we have shared the load a bit more amongst the likes of Costa, Fabregas, Matic, Oscar and Hazard etc. Silva and Toure have not been as influential as in seasons past but that could quickly change. I'd say though that if Aguero got a long term injury, City could struggle.

Would an injury to Costa be just as much a problem for you?

Possibly but as long as Remy was fit I'd say not as bad at City less Aguero. I think we have goals all over the pitch which I don't think could be said for City. Cahill, Terry and Ivan are all capable of getting a few each year and that's just our defence.

Costa would be a big loss of course but he's not getting goals out of nothing like Aguero is for City. Costa's goals still owe a lot to the work of the midfielders etc and Remy would score in this side.

Far to early to say title is in the bag
feel there will be good runs from other sides and perhaps a little wobble from us
as has been said traditionally this is not our best part of the season

We simply are superior but that would be the case if we were top or bottom of the league - even a couple of relegations and we'd still be superior because we're Chelsea.

I would strongly disagree re 'attitudes' due to our current position. I haven't heard a single Chelsea fan say with any degree of seriousness about an unbeaten season and if there were ever a set of careful, fear the worst supporters I'm yet to meet them. I can't speak about our Mumbai contingent or Canadian Blues etc but long standing followers of our club have always been the nervy type and even singing 'we're gonna win the league' in 2005 when we were all but there was frowned upon.

Other clubs have been known to sing to team buses before matches as per some religious cult with chorus after chorus of ' and now your gonna believe us'. I don't consider anyone could be so foolish but I even heard they had bloody champions t-shirts selling like wildfire off every stall around the ground.

You won't find us slipping up (oops) like that.

It is never over until the fat one gives a verse.

Chelsea are favourites at present because they hold a favourites chance but clearly have only the second best squad overall. Should we prevail over City for the next two years we will probably see Mr. Pellegrini depart to elsewhere. Not sure that either United or Liverpool are good enough to earn champions league football but time will tell.

Chelsea have been the best team so far, not too much doubt about that. However........... if Fabregas gets badly injured we are in some trouble, since almost all our attack starts with him. And it's not just the attack, Ivan is thriving off runs on to Fabs' passes, JT and Cahill are covering really well because Matic can mop up with them, because Fab is running the attack. Costa is in a similar but less problematic position. We are much better with him but get by OK without. Remy is yet to shine due to lack of game time , so I reserve my judgement ,and Drogs does the job against certain teams, but is not ideally suited to our new style of play. So unless we get a midfielder who can do the same job as Fab and another really lethal striker, then we have a certain vulnerability. That said, surely among our youngsters there is someone who can be brought through? Abe for sure, though he's more a defensive mid judging by his fabulous game at the bridge earlier this season. Since even I can see this, there is no doubt Jose is working on something behind the scenes. So , looks extremely good for the PL title this year, all our chasers have their own problems , most bigger than ours.

Except in a penalty shoot out of a Champions League final

Clubs laying plastic flags on seats and suspended captains waiting in the wings to put on their kit to lift the trophy they almost cost their team is just as cringeworthy tbf.

Anyway, the league is Chelsea's. Mourhino doesn't take an 11 point lead, even at this stage in the season and allow it to deteriorate. I think as Chelsea fans you're being uncharacteristically sober about this, but I'm sure deep down (and not too deep) you believe you've won it.

Fair enough mate but the point I was making is that we weren't giving it the big one like some. We know only too well that things like that can happen in football.

A big deal was made over John Terry joining the lads in celebration after Munich. Personally I though he had every right considering he'd more than played his part both that year and in previous downright injustices in the competition. I doubt you'll find a Chelsea fan say otherwise. Roy Keane made his stance in 99 but I recall thinking at the time he should have been with the lads post match.

The plastic flags are a sign of the times I'm afraid. We aren't the first and certainly won't be the last. Our club chose to do this but our fans historically stand with the best of them. No one can deny this.

Our being sober regarding our current position is just the way we are. Having witnessed recent events I think that's likely to be the case throughout.

We have an eight point gap over City.

But we are 13 points ahead of the most expensive team in the history of English football: mind the gap <:)>

To have spent 200 million in a year and be 13 points off a team (after only 11 games!!) who has pretty much a net spend in the same time is a shocking mismanagement of funds!!

No title is won after 11 games. I thought you'd know that better than most given leads you've blown and teams you've caught over the years....

It's an 8 point lead as well, and that's disregarding Southampton.
