Good luck Tatey, great servant to the club and glad you got to play in the PL with us. Hope he finds a tidy club to finish off your career.

Will always be fondly remembered by me. The forgotten man behind Britton and Martinez for playing in the iconic 4-2 win against Hull all those years ago, and the forgotten man behind Britton and Monk for playing in all 4 divisions with Swansea. Energetic and really threw himself into what Swansea City had to offer. Always wore his heart on his sleeve. Celebrated our successes and cried for our worst defeats like only a true Jack Bastard could. Wish him all the best for the remainder of his career!

I feel realy sad about this.

I'd pay twice to go to his testimonial, realy hope he has one before he finaly departs.

He endured the worst of luck. A legend, stands with Leon imho.

Good luck dude, luv ya, miss ya <ok>

Always put his body on the line. He was never one of the best defenders but what he had in abundance was true grit and determination and he played no small part in our rise up the leagues. A true legend.

A club legend that goes alongside Leon without a doubt. Hopefully he'll get his testimonial before going. If he retires, I'd like to see him take up some sort of coaching role at the club <ok>

Tate on the bench for Crewe tonight. Read earlier that he is in discussions about joining them next season.

Unless Cardiff come in for him. <laugh>

Having given jobs to Curt, Monk, O'Leary & Trundle I see no reason for Tate to be given a role if he wanted it - not sympathy as I'm convinced he could do a great job. I feel he's been airbrushed out of our history.

Tate and Britton are "Swans of a Feather"....for Tate not to get his testimonial will be just short of criminal and will say more about us as a club , than him as a player.

"I feel he's been airbrushed out of our history".

    There's a lot of it about,Bob.

I agree with your sentiment re a decent job for Tate. He was part of the furniture for so long. Possible falling out with the new gaffer?

    O.K.,then,I'm suitably admonished. <laugh>

He certainly does. A quirk of the fixture list prevented the proposed United game taking place.A new one can surely be arranged.

Possibly, but his injury didn't help and Laudrup didn't make use of him either through choice or availability. I'd say it is more a board issue. Or, perhaps he just wants to play football at any league level.

Testimonial should have been the very least he was offered.

Injury notwithstanding,he was never up to P.L. standard,so his game time was always going to be limited.
Great servant to the Club, however, and the unfortunate timing of the Man.Utd. league match was hardly his fault.
Hopefully,a new date will be arranged, and he can lead the side out one last time.

Nothing to do with Tate being not able to play Premier League guality , all to do with the quality of the man helping us reach there .My biggest disappiontment in Laudrup was his , seemingly , thoughtlessness toward Tate and , seemingly , lack of respect for a ""Swansea Legend""..
