just looked at the Tingle Creek odds - with Sire de Grugy doubtful I thought that Sprinter Sacre would be about 1/2.

he is however 6/4 on betfair and drifting...I really hope nothing is wrong. would love to see him back to hs best

He will have to be absolutely in top fettle for Henderson to run him. I guess you are getting the price because of that and whether he runs to anywhere near his old form.

That 3.50 today is a fine example of why you should bet toteplace <laugh>

A few didnt go to plan today but 3 winners on opening odds with the lad crooks showed a 1 3/4 point profit , better than a loss I suppose

Two horses I was impressed with over the weekend, Shanahans Turn and Uxizandre. Took the 25s Shanahans Turn for the Jewson pre race, his debut was probably the most impressive ive seen from a novice chaser so far, they have always rated him and he looks to have come into his own over fences but still 20s in a place so maybe the bookies were not as impressed. Uxizandre looks a good price still at 12s for the Ryanair, done well to win like that over 2 miles but he is a 2 1/2 horse and got away with it against 2 milers below the top level, clearly likes the track and is a smart jumper, his form with Taquin Du Seuil might looks a bit better next week. I could see him having too much speed and heart for Dynaste and Simonsig still to prove his well being so he is fav in my book.

I liked Shanahans also Boris but not sure what he beat. Certainly not without a chance.

I certainly wouldn't put anyone off having a long priced punt in the Champion Chase for the reasons Bob has outlined. I really hope we see Sprinter Sacre back but seems there's plenty keen to lay him on Betfair and they do like laying them at Mr Henderson's yard too.. Big doubts whether he'll ever return. He was fantastic to watch for those 2 seasons.

IMO the vet did the right thing, he thought Coneygree was lame and pulled him from the race. If for a minute he has some doubt the horse is not 100% he has to pull him out, that's what he gets paid to do. If for some reason he was and he let him race and half way down the back straight he falls, breaks a leg and gets put down! Who's gonna get the blame, the jockey will come back saying "he didn't feel right shouldn't have run and thought to pull him up" Thats his career over, legal suit for not doing his job. I fully respect his decision he has a split decision to make and any doubt it is in the horses welfare not to take the chance and not to race rather have the regret of today than the regret of what could have happened
