Bugger, you got in before me. I expect tickler to break the news on saturday BBC Championship club Wigan Athletic sack manager Uwe Rosler. "I have thought long and hard about this," said chairman Dave Whelan. "I have thought about little else for days in fact. "Initially my thoughts were that Uwe should be given more time. "He is a good manager and I like him immensely as a person, he is honest, passionate and clearly works day and night to try and earn success for the team. "However, the situation we find ourselves in at the moment, and the run of results in recent months, really has been alarming. Something is clearly not working."
Bit of a surprise I would have thought they would have stuck with him at least until the end of the year.
Some really good teams in the championship Id hate to be trying to get out of that league! Some people posting over the top reactions to a loss away to burnley should be glad where we are in the league and enjoy it.
I heard a stat yesterday that, after being sacked, 55% of managers will never work again. That's mental.
Hardly a shock. Been on the cards for weeks. Good time for a change now during the international break and with Wigan in the bottom 3 but who will take that job on ? Good luck whoever gets it.
Never work as a manager again? To be fair, if any of us were sacked a few times for poor performance & not fulfilling targets we'd also struggle to find work in our chosen fields. We'd also not get the pay off they get.
He was the best thing ever for them just last season when they reached the FA Cup semi final having knocked Man City out and taking Arsenal to penalties. I wonder what went wrong?
On their Vital boards according to the poll, he's not even one of the candidates. http://www.wigan.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=26754&start=21&posts=39
