We only spend what we earn and we are not in zillions of debt or under FFP investigation like United or Pool Chelsea FC: saving football
To have a transfer budget and to break even you need PSG and Moyes to give you about 80million a season. Good luck!
Charming as always Oswald. I think the subjects of debt, loans, debt being converted to equity, cash flows, revenues, profits etc are all a bit beyond your grasp. Stick to hurling insults at every non-Chelsea poster, you're very good at that.
So in essence you're agreeing as the only two times you've made a profit is when you've sold off players?
No as the first time winning the CL was a major contributer, not selling players. How many clubs on the planet can live without trophies or selling their best players in order to meet FFP or even profit? I'd say around 4 clubs. We also brought in BETTER players with most of the money made last season. Players who suit our style and were needed. These players are probably going to win us a lot of silverware.
Fair enough. I agree that FFP only suits a handful of clubs and in England it suits the two that dominated the PL before Roman and the Sheikh came along. I don't think anyone beyond London's Answer to Katie Price would consider FFP to be Chelsea's friend. There's no doubt your transfer dealings over the past couple of seasons have been very good and the team is young enough to keep you sound for a few more years. I suppose the challenge will come when the squad needs freshening up on a budget.
Best manager in the world has built strong squad with age on its side on net £10m spend. Jose + FFP = Top of the league
Us Saints are debt free too & we're coming for you Chelsea (once we've made sure 40pts are on the board), if only because no one else seems to be bothered. Or rip off Liverpool, ManU & Aresnal at the same time...
The figures are for Chelsea's acounts to June 30 2014. Players registrations cannot technically be transferred until July 1, so would we have included the Luis, Lukaku transfers on the 2013/14 accounts? I haven't seen a revenue breakdown so I am unsure if those transfers will be included 2013-14 or 2014-15. Good news is that commercial revenue went up 50 per cent from £80m to over £120m which is great progress. Still way behind the top boys Bayern 200m, Real 180m but getting closer to United 150m and overtaking Liverpool 97m
