Been told that Flicka Williams is primed for a big run -3 00 Bangor -ran well at Carlisle the other week -staying on with a big weight -returns to the scene of his c&d success -hope it's a 10/1 again!
Perhaps not betting propositions this time around, but some very nice types out with one eye on the future: 3.00 Bangor - Kentucky Hyden. Mr Henderson has his string in fine form and the Triumph 2nd ought to be up to winning this off 146 3.10 Exeter - Ptit Zig makes his chase debut for Paul Nicholls having come up not that far short of the top table over hurdles 3.30 Bangor - Chatez is best remembered as the horse who scuppered the last leg of that massive scoop 6 rollover earlier this year. Hurdle debut for Alan King 4.10 Exeter - Tara Point won her bumper in tremendous style and makes her hurdle debut here for Paul Nicholls A small win yankee for interest
I really fancy Operating at Bangor. The form of his win LTO really stacks up well and he simply must be well handicapped at the moment. Whether he's primed for a race is the unknown but 3/1 is really tempting.
That's a valuable race Bob, so you would expect so, however the yard is not firing on all cylinders yet, plenty of short price reverses -some winners, but many not running as expected, I like knock a hand in that race, Johnson booked means business for that yard!
Just got 2 YoYos matched @ 24/1 on Betfair , so will buy your ticket to the next meeting if it cops, I owe you BIG Stylee Rudebwoy for intoducing me to this forum Good Luck
Attivo -good luck with that at the price -it's been backed tonight, my only issue is the going! I'm sure better ground suits this horse -but as he's so well they probably feel they have to have a go -its a hot race, but he's a good horse, some of the others may have other targets down the line...
Been tipped up already but more than happy to tip it again. TARA POINT 4.10 Exeter. Quite simply an incredible horse. Its last run was about 6 months ago when it destroyed the field at no more than a leisurely walk. Massive massive win bet.
Never really seen the point in backing a 1/4 shot let alone tipping them on here but each to their own
Totally agree stick, surely gambling is about value -if it's too short -let it win or lose -no bet -odds on is always a dodgy bet -unless it's real Madrid against Liverpool
EL NAMOOSE today seems to get a lot of tips on the forum today and was a 1-5 shot. Alot of people (like me) only bet on favs but put them in doubles and trebles. Throw in djokovic, bayern munich and van gerwen from other sports who always win and its certainly making me lots of profit!
Each to thier own it is but if some one sees 1/5 as good value bet that they see as it can't loose (altho there is no bet that can't loose) good luck to them better return for your money than the bank! It's what ever the individual sees as good value whether it is 1/5 or 25/1 a winner is a winner and keep banging them in
He certainly has some improving to do with the top 3 in the betting a graded hurdle winner and one of the best juveniles of last year and some good yardsticks down the bottom of the betting on very winnable marks so he has some improving to do but it is a hot race and alot will depend how ready are the other but I can't see Henderson sending his horse less than 95% an on last yrs form that should be enough with some bigger targets in the pipeline
Backing odds on shots is the quickest way to lose your shirt -an old cliche but it's true -the amount of return is not worth the risk -of course it's anyone's prerogative what they wish to bet on -but it's not for me short priced bets -I have done them, but as a rule I leave alone. .....drinks on fusion at Cheltenham!
2:50 Ayr balbriggrin - won over hurdles yesterday so if turns out quickly today over fences would expect to win, time before he ran third to The Young Master which looks good form - 15/8 NON-RUNNER
Kentucky Hyden is one of my faves, Oddy, and he had a corker of a term last season finishing runner-up in 2 Grade 1âs and finishing 2nd in a Grade 2. His win to run ratio is poor though as heâs only once in 11 outings (5 though were across The Channel prior to him joining the forumâs favourite trainer). I can see him being competitive off 146 but long term he is seen as a prospect for the big âuns a sphere he should take very high rank in. You can guarantee he will be Fit with a capital âFâ today as Mr Henderson wants to see if he can exploit his current perch, and therefore give him another season over hurdles, if not his next race, after today, will be over the big âuns. In fact Iâm sure the great man, together with a small gin and tonic, will sit down later this evening and decide the way forward re Kentucky Hyden for the rest of his career. Today then is something of a fact finding mission and an indication of the way to proceed for the rest of 2014/15 season. Meanwhile, I donât think those bookie chappies are giving anything away in going just 6/4 re his chances. Itâs a no bet for me. Also intrigued that youâve tipped Ptit Zig and Chatez. I too canât wait to see the former over the big âuns. Whilst Chatez is very well fancied in the county today and should oblige first time up. Both are odds-on though (long, long, long odds-on in the case of Mr Nichollsâ steed) and I think those bookie chappies are being quite mean. You could quite easily though have another 100% day with your punts, once again, as they do overall look a formidible quartet.
I will be very interested to see how Jupiter Rex gets on in the 1.40 at Exeter. Ran up an impressive sequence in the spring of last year and has been off since. Venetia Williams team is in good form at the moment 5/1 seems a fair price to me
That Nicholls 1/4 shot in the lucky last at Exeter is on the drift, now only 2/5! Still far too skinny for me on seasonal reappearance in the mud. I'll oppose it with a little each way go on Laura Young's Buckboru @ 33s. The only form of note with this one was on heavy ground in a couple of bumpers. Brian Boru progeny appear to be happiest running in wellies. Good luck all
Just to stress the first line in my post - "Perhaps not betting propositions this time around, but some very nice types out with one eye on the future" I wouldn't want anyone thinking I'm "tipping these up" or suggesting a "lump-on job". I've had a very small stakes yankee, as I stated, for interest and if it helps me turn 11 into 30 then so be it. If not, I shan't be crying
