Good Morning Everyone, Sheffield Utd have given permission to allow Ched Evens to train with them, regain his fitness, whilst they decide whether to re sign him! The 25 year old has served 2 1/2 years of a 5 year term for rape, and is eager to put his past, in the past! Should Evans be allowed to return to the sport that he loves after the despicable act he did? Or, the past should be left in the past. He deserves another chance? The FA have made a statement saying that the Bellusci - Jerome Thomas incident is ongoing! What exactly does this mean? What do they hope to uncover after a month? Diouf has finally found a new club. He's off to Malaysia... Darren O' Dea (remember him?). He was applying his trade with Ukrainian side Metalurh Donetsk, but due to the war that is going on there, has bought himself out of his contract, and hopes to sign for Blackpool!!!
I'll give you all my two penneth worth regarding Ched Evans. What he did, cannot be forgiven, nor forgotten, but he has done his time, and I say give him one more chance, but I believe that part of his wages for the next, say 5 years should go to the victim!
Morning ell .. think if Evans actually said sorry then maybe people would let him get on, but he has refused so far .. FA must have something on Bellusci or it would have been dropped by now .. Diouf will probably come off the bench twice and then disappear .. Blackpool look doomed, so signing O'Dea will be building for next season ... fcuking hate these worthless International breaks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning everyone The Evans one is a hard one but I don't see why he can't earn a wage? I understand that what he did was extremely wrong but he's served his time. Prison is about rehabilitation and I can't imagine for one minute that he's going to go out and commit another rape. I do understand why people would be upset about him coming back though. Had he been a normal less profile person trying to get back into employment no one would bat an eyelid! As for him saying sorry? yeah it would help him in the long term and the courts found him guilty but it is possible that they could get it wrong and it was consensual? I'm not defending what he's done but I'm trying to look at it from different points of view. The Bellusci saga was always going to go on longer than expected. One question I have about it is if nothing can be proven about him saying something racist will Cameron Jerome face any punishment for implying it? Feel sorry for Blackpool. People (the football league) are quick to point the finger at Cellino yet the Oystons are deemed suitable to run a club of Blackpools stature??? It's mental
I'm not defending him for one minute, but he still maintains he is not guilty, surely saying sorry would be admitting guilt? After doing jury duty a couple of years ago I would have no faith in the decission they came to, 75% of the cases I sat on were a complete farce.
Elland you have not given the correct alternative as an option in the poll. Having comitted the crime and done the time should he be given the chance to resurrect his career? My view: The crime is despicable, although he is appealing and that makes me wonder how he got out as you are supposed to show remosre to qualify for early release. But having served the time that the judicial process has dictated then IMO like it or not he has served his time and is a free man and he has to be allowed to carry on his life as long as it is legal. If he was an estate agent he would be free to take up his trade again, it shouldnt be different because he is a footballist.
Good Morning from a very damp Cote De Bardsey to Matt and co I havevoted to not allow Evans to play in this country againg it will send out the wrong message to other would be rapists that its alright which it isn't Bellusci how on earth can they tell what he is saying if he is speaking ItalianI think it should be forgotten Blackpool deserve better than to be own by a rapist who has literallly raped the club too where are the FL up the tower!
Served his time as set out by our wonderful legal system and he is a free man to do what ever he wants if we disagree and maybe i do maybe i dont im not sure. its not HIS fault blame the system
Morning Matt and all. For me what he did was beyond recompense because although the victim can't remember consenting, doing it in front of a group of friends smacked of complete and utter disregard showing no respect for her and shows he's a piece of ****!
Morning all. On Evans, I think I may have missed something here. Did she willingly go to his room? Did she try to fight him off at any time? Or was his crime that yes she willingly went up to his room, but was just too pi**ed to say no? Either way, he's served his time, and should now be allowed to get on and earn a living having hopefully learned a lesson from whatever happened.
Morning all. Normally I agree about the worthless international breaks but this ones a bit different for the Irish and Scottish. A game were all looking forward to. I can understand the apathy with the England group though. Nothing to play for, poor opposition and qualified before a ball was kicked
Republic v Scotland will be interesting to watch for a whole raft of reasons. Odds on their being some crowd trouble or dodgy singing? At least this weekend will allow Redders plenty of time to work with the team to smooth out some of the rough edges. Might also give him time to consider whether or not to play Montenegro and one or two others that haven't seen much action so far.
Don't get me started on CHed Evans!! Oh you have... My thoughts, after everything i've read about the case,... i think he's innocent of rape. He's guilty of being a knob, stupidly going to the hotel and cheating on the missus, but she wasn't paraletic in any way shape or form. I believe she consented,... The CCTV of her entering the hotel, she's clearly not paraletic. She went to work the following day. They were questioned by police after she went back to look for a bag that was missing and went to the police about it. She didn't cry rape. Ched and his mate both told the police they had had sex with her, they didn't try to cover it up. Tweets on her restricted twitter account (which she later deleted) halfway inbetween the charges being made and it going to court, to her friends, telling them what she's going to get them all, when she "wins big", "matching pink mini coopers" "holidays" e.t.c. As for rapists i think they should get a hell of a lot more than 5 years, if they should be let out at all, but this case is about as watertight as a colender.
Funny how McDonald got off when he was the one that called Evans in the 1st place. If it had been the other way round, and the white bloke had gone 1st, would the outcome have been the same?
Just seen this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/...on-his-way-to-Remembrance-Sunday-service.html Utter scumbags Is Keighley near Bradford?
as much as the crime he did was terrible, the whole point of him going to court and getting sentance is to punish him once he has completed it he should be allowed to move on Why should he pay compensation to the victim surely the court would have awarded what they believed to be enough compensation
Interestingly Eire, having bumped into the Tarten Army in an official capacity, they are very good at aself policing. They don't allow sectarian singing, and the hard lads will have words with any kids that turn up who try. They are generally also made up of fans who normally support anyone else but Rangers or Celtic. But this is for away matches. Will be interesting to see whether this holds true for a match in Britain/Ireland. Hope so.
