Solly was back to his imperious best yesterday, and Fox had his best game to date IMO. The defensive unit s tight and JJ and Cousins grafted hard. We are still 2/3 players short. Another crapulous performance from Harriott, who gave the ball away too often. If he went thru one on one with David Blunkett in goal, I would back Blunkets to save it. Crapadean's comical miss at the end was vivid proof that our squad is still short on quality and we need reinforcements...British ones, not Eurotrash, in January.
Why do the reinforcements have to be British Vol? There are some decent players in Europe you know. They are not all like Koc, PP and Tucudean.
Glad to see you put in a good word for Cousins. Hardest worker in the team, and playing in the wrong position too. Wilson would be much the same if played regularly. Decision to bring on Bulot instead of Wilson when desperately hanging on was worrying. Suggests Bob is still wearing Belgian blinkers. There are sound reasons for preferring British players. More accustomed to the hurly-burly of British football, and more likely to settle domestically. But these reasons are outweighed by the economics and the fact that there are just so many more foreign players to choose from. I think Huddersfield may have the fewest foreigners in the top two leagues. Perhaps Vol should start supporting them and their popular and talented manager?
Because of the market RD shops in, dick. Lets he honest, they are just cheap punts (I think I spelt that right....)
Just read an interview with Bikey - and the game plan was to keep a clean sheet as they were concerned they hadn't kept one for a few games. BP told them before the game if they don't conceed he was certain we would win. Looking at the international fixtures - it appears Angola have 2 games. Do you think Igor actually hurt his calf or do you think it was ''tactical''?
I was thinking exactly the same thing Super. I think the calf injury probably not as bad as it seemed.
http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/...elivers_Charlton_manager_s_pre_match_request/ post match thoughts from bikey. i really liked this. the attitude that came from it is that it's the 3pts that's most important. in past years, we've always been too nice, we've always accepted that we played well and were unlucky (a bit like scotland to some extent). but now, it seems that it's the results that really matter.
Fox has proved a lot of people wrong, including me. When I first saw him in the U-18's I gave him no chance of getting a contract, but he did get one due to the hard work he put in, something which Paul Hart admitted afterwards. He seems to have the ideal attitude.
Given Eddie's record on predictions, it might be worth a small flutter on Blackpool to end our unbeaten home record!
Fair comment. I have made a complete prat of myself and deserve public humiliation. But I would add that I love this club which I have supported since 1947 (longer than anyone else here?) despite bitterly disappointing my father and elder brother (both Chelsea supporters). If I predict losses and other dropped points I am delighted to be proven wrong.
