Came across this comment from Ryan Bertrand... Didier Drogba: Heâs been an unbelievable player for Chelsea over the years â for me more so away from the pitch. Heâs a very good role model. There was one time in the FA Cup final when Iâd played most of the games and then got injured in the semis and didnât get back in the team. We won the final and the team was celebrating. Didier came up to me after the game and asked if I got a medal. When I said no, he gave me his one. It was an unbelievable thing to do. What a bloody great guy and role model.
Shrewsbury Town rate Drogba. he played at shrewsbury for Galatassary last summer in PSF. at least he knows the way, get him to navigate on 28th. can someone get Jose to smile, as he may not have too much to smile about on 28th. Floreat Salopia!
I'm relatively new to soccer...only been following it about a little over a year now. (But I've jumped in with both feet, watching as much as I possibly can, so desperate for a game that I even sit through those Uruguayan League games that look like they're being played at the neighborhood playground when nothing else is on.) This past summer, watching the WC, it was amazing what happened to the Ivorian team when Drogba came onto the pitch. Instantly, the entire team played with more confidence, poise, and seemed hungrier, and Drogba himself had a fire that the other players fed off of. I'm glad to be able to see him wearing a Chelsea kit, even though he's a few years past his prime. Here's hoping his experience and savvy help overcome some of that aging.
Didier Drogba and Gianfranco Zola, both fabulous players and incredible human beings, both Chelsea legends. Drogba has given extraordinary amounts of his earnings for the betterment of the poor and unwell in his country. They sure see him as a God, who are we to argue with that?
