No the Mackems are too high. I prefer them in 17th, only keeping their head above water on goal difference. Other than that its all good, we're as high as we could hope to finish.

The next 4 games are massive now. If we could 6 or 7 points from them I'd be over the moon.

Much happier, would be delighted with a top half finish to be honest.

Looking at the table, Southampton have had a very kind fixture list, but have made good use of it. After Villa away, they've got two months of pretty tough matches. I think they'll finish 5th.

If you were to have offered any one of us the following at the start of the season....

Two points above Everton, Liverpool & Spurs
Level on points with Man United
    1 point behind Arsenal

...then I think everyone would have bitten your hand off.

Then again if we'd been told that after 11 games we'd be two points below Fat Sam & Gary Monk's teams we'd have thought we were ****ed.

The thought of how we are doing this season under Pardew looks even more scary when you start looking at the other fixtures next time out and wonder where we might be if we beat QPR at home. That's usually when things start to go wrong for us though.

It looks good but still very congested.

With QPR, West Ham and Burnley up next we should be aiming for a minimum of 6 points. Six or more sets us up nicely for a tough run of 4 or 5 games.

    Lets pretend....
This weekend : We win again.
    Arsenal & ManU - Draw
    Everton beat West Ham
    ManCity beat Swansea

All very possible results - and we would be 4th !
On the other hand......shouldn't tempt fate !

'Smug in Boro' doesn't sound quite as exotic as the destinations Smug used to gloat about, but might be more realistic.

I would more than happily finish 17th at the end of the season if that highlighted bit were part of the deal.
