I"m absolutely dreading Abu Dhabi. I'd almost prefer that Hamilton wasn't in the title fight. I can't cope with another 1986! Somebody get the race thread up pronto!
This whole "Ask Crofty" thing on Twitter makes me laugh Why the hell would anybody want to ask anything to a man who has no idea what is happening at the best of times, even with it happening in front of him and with all the info he could ever need?
An Ask Herbert one would be 100x worse. We'd just get answers with "sort of" and "come into play" in every sentence.
Just watched the race on Sky+ as we had a family event going on... Interesting post-race podium, seemed that they silenced out something from Nico and he swore to himself whilst walking off. Any ideas what happened?
#Ask Crofty "Why do seemingly half-decent Radio 5 commentators turn into complete moron's once they move over to television? It's happened twice now and frankly it's getting a bit irritating." #ASCforSkyF1slot
Then Sky would be ITV mk.2, he was the worst commentator in years, he'd be worse than EMSC commentating over Schumacher!
I reckon he was probably always fairly crap, the difference is now we can see his mistakes. Perhaps on the radio he could just roll with it a lot more or at least take his time because it's not as urgent to say what is happening when most people hearing it can't see what's happening either.
No clue. Apparently he was calling someone an effing barstool though. Hope it was directed at Piquet.
Am i getting totally confused in my old age, or was there one race on the BBC a few years back (perhaps first year they won the package from ITV again) where one of the commentators had to stay home for a family issue or something and they threw Ted Kravitz into the box as co-commentator? Could have been last year with ITV come to think of it. I also strongly remember the last 4 or 5 races on the BBC with Legard and Brundle, it was pretty clear Brundle was very fed up of Legard by then and they sounded close to fighting every race
