Caller said last night," Give Maquire a coaching session then stick him upfront". Possibly the most ridiculous call I've ever heard on there, and there is some huge competition.

A centre back would have more chance of getting on the end of Elmo's crosses than Aluko, if we're going to play the crossing game with Jelavic out.

 

Could he be any worse than yesterday.

 

Yes Maguire would have been far more useful than Aluko yesterday.

If Jelly is back against Spurs I expect a 4-5-1 with us trying to play through balls to Jelavic to run onto.

Then when it doesn't work we might revert to a 5-4-1 and have the wing backs sling the crosses in for Aluko to get his head on.

Possibly with Ramirez playing as the holding midfielder.
