    - Chelsea to bid for Walcott.

    - lost out on Alvarez to inter.

    - gonna lose out on hazard to inter

    - Nasri wants to go to utd (or anywhere as long as he's paid disgusting amounts of money)

    - rvp ready to hand in transfer request as the team disintegrates around him.

    - Chelsea ready to sign Cahill.*

    - wilshere in club brawl

    - infighting amongst the board

    - fabregas to Barcelona for a tour of the nou camp and a nice Spanish omelete.

    - and worst of all, no bugger'll buy bendtner or denilson!

Are things really this bad or does the uk media just have a huge downer on AFC due to their recent lack of transfer activities following the initial promises of HUGE signings?

I wonder... Do you wonder too??

"HOWEVER, there is a problem with our wage structure whereby our low-end earners earn too much and the higher-end earners earn too little."

You pay premium wages in order to secure the best young talent, you change that you lose Wengers dynasty

The point I'm making is Denilson when 16 prob got paid more than any other 16 at another club, when he renews his contract the wage offered is only ever going to increase

Exactly, that's how Arsenal entice youngsters to their clubs, usually frustrating smaller clubs who lose world class talent for pennies. They entice them to their club with huge signing on fees and blow everyone else's wage offers out of the water for a player of that age. The media will often say that they choose Arsenal because of Wengers reputation at bringing youngsters through, it's not that, it's the wages.

How do you know Wilshere was really the 1 in the brawl?!
He's the famous and rich one, ofcourse he's going to get the focus on him even if he didn't do anything.

If you were in a club and say David beckham and his mates steve and mark, and steve n mark started on you and jumped your mate, your going to say to the papers ooh david beckham and his mates did it, when becks did **** all

And i agree about the wage structure, by all means offer youngsters decent wages, but make them prove there worth any improvment!

the likes of frimpong etc aren't on thousands of pounds a week (he told me) so maybe the giant wages are abit over exagerated

I believe the "in-fighting" in our board stems from a bitter woman who lost her place on the board but then made £120m selling her shares.

The in-fighting started when David Dein and AW took over most important affairs at the club.
Downhill once the Board ganged up on DD.

this is an interesting thread and some good points raised!

Wenger has had a problem regarding wages for years - if you think back to ashley cole and when he left - he left as wenger would only offer him £55k per week and he wanted £60k a week like most of the other first team players. It was also reported that at the same time we had players such as campbell on £100k (yeah i know he signed for free blah blah blah - i'm just making a point) lauren, pires, ljungberg, henry all on £60k plus, but the problem wenger had was players such as Senderos, Cygan, Flamini and Reyes were all on or around £60k a week at arsenal and cole wanted to be on similar wages to these. Wenger refused and cole obv left and went to chelski...

So the problem has been there for years with wenger paying to much in wages to bench and reserve team players like Cygan and first teamers getting annyoed that they are only picking up a fraction more than these players.

Also peeps we shouldnt believe everything we read in the papers - some of it may have some basis but the vast majority is gonna be utter rubbish - Walcott wouldnt get into the chelsea team so i dont see them spending the money on him to warm there bench - they have drogba for that! RVP has on more than one occasion stated his love for the club and how he isn't remotely interested in leaving (granted this may change when his the only player left in the first team squad - after we've sold everyone else like the papers would have us believe.

Cahill to chelsea? They've just signed Luiz and have terry, alex and the big serbian - they dont need cahill warming there bench for £17m!

Regarding the Wilshere brawl it was too of his friends that got into a fight - nowt to do with Wilshere - his friends have been charged not him so i wouldnt let it worry you - is he a little prick - YES but who wasnt at 19! and his 19 and LOADED - i'd be the biggest prick on the face of the planet if i was wilshere!

Denny and Bendtner - if we were all to have a whip round i'm sure with the money raised we could buy them both - my sunday team need players for next year! :p

Some ****s in the media are trying to milk the Arsenal crisis by inventing rumours about more players wanting out. We are despised by the media for our foreign methods and personnel. Clichy looks set to move on and that's no harm imo. I wonder why a coach who seeks defensive stability first would actually go for Clichy. It raises doubts in my mind about just how good a manager Mancini actually is.

Nasri also looks set to leave but I haven't given up on him being convinced to stay. Fabregas will likely be sold but the way Barcelona are going about things, it's not a certainty. He has four years left on his contract and their bids have been derisory. We need to stand up to them and remind Fabregas once again who the **** it is he plays for.

The only silver lining I can gleam from this apparent exodus is that we could rebuild our team anew in the mould of the invincibles. Stronger, meaner and more athletic individuals are required in positions throughout the pitch. Our experimental tip-tappy style borders on excruciating to watch at times. It's dull, uninventive and predictable. I'd rather a return to the days when our players would pressure the opposition into conceding posession and then breaking with incredible speed and movement all over the pitch.

The only trouble is it's the wrong players who want to leave

It seems Denilson, Diaby, Eboue, Rosicky, Almunia and Squillaci are going to be STAYING

It's far too early in the window to be getting upset by this. There's going to be an unprecedented level of transfer activity at AFC this season and several of those players will be off too. They just won't command the sensationalistic tabloid coverage that Nasri and co would.

I'm still of theopinion that Diaby and to maybe a lesser extent Eboue and Rosicky could still do something for Arsenal next season - if deployed in the right position and in the right system?

but i agree Denilson, Bendtner, Almunia and Squillaci all need to go

Absolutely. Rosicky had his tonsils removed in an operation recently and doctors out his constant viral infections down to this. This may have impacted on his form for us because he was a classy player before his injury. Eboue is a decent reserve right-back although he's better off attacking than defending. He needs to be vocally berated on occasion. And Diaby is a useful squad player. If he could sustain a short run without picking up another injury, then he could become something of a presence in the middle.

The other 4 must be shown the door though.

    could not agree more <ok> <ok> <ok>

players like denilison have done NOTHING to show that they are capable playing for Arsenal and whilst I am still of the opinion that bendtner has the potential to be a good forward and to score goals at a high level - i think that his future and this potential may need to be realised else where

You can't really defend Rosicky, he has been completely useless since 2008. No one in our squad has contributed less.

i think the problem with rosicky is that he picks up a lot of injuries - ALOT of injuries - if he could stay fit for an entire season we might get some worth while production from him- again if used correctly
