Tennis is the only sport on TV where we have to have a close-up of the players' mother, father, girlfriend/boyfriend, coach at the end of every set, and sometimes in between shots. If you count the number of shots of Andy's mummy staring straight ahead or shrieking and fist pumping it must be 20 or 30 times in a match (depending on how long it lasts). It annoys me ... she annoys me ...
I've always wanted the home nations sides to do well unless there playing England of course, never understood all this you cant support Scotland or Wales, so yes i'd want Murry to win.
He obviously went walkabout mentally after missing that break point in the second - had he got that I reckon it would have been so different, because that signalled two sets of Nadal domination where before, Murray had the edge in all areas. Oh well - always next year......
you are a sad excuse for a man...... pathetic it's sad that we both support the same team.... hopefully you are a chelski supporter in disguise
Murray is certainly like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. I personally thought he was an arsehole when he supported Paraquay in the opening World Cup game in 2006, and that Scottish behaviour has followed him through the years. He's a terrific player but destined to be Henman Mk II a semi-final choker. I actually felt sorry for him yesterday.
I'm not into tennis at all. Grown men trying to hit a ball over a net. Maybe Rob Hulse should give it a go!
Footnote on Andy Murray. 13 March 1996: Massacre at Dunblane Primary School. Who'd have thought that as the bullets flew killing 16 children, the 8 year old hiding under the headmaster's desk would become one of only three British semi finalists at Wimbledon in 60 odd years. An amazing young man imo. Apologies for repeating myself but it's such a massive feat: way beyond anything the otherwise excellent Taylor and Henman achieved.
Nice that you are thinking of me during my holiday(5 more days to go) Did you see that Nadal let that sweaty sock win a set, extra practice for the final I think
