Championship relaxes financial rules â but no reprieve for QPR Tweet Share Share Share by Frank Dalleres November 7, 2014, 12:16am FOOTBALL clubs in Englandâs second tier have become the first high-profile league to vote for a relaxation of financial fair play rules designed to restrict their expenditure. At least 18 of 24 Championship teams agreed to increase the amount of money they are allowed to lose from its current limit of £8m per year to £39m over three years. The modifications are designed to make them more compatible with the Premier Leagueâs cost control rules, and include greater leeway for teams relegated from the top flight. But there is to be no reprieve for clubs that exceeded the strict limits last season, meaning QPR are still expected to be hit with a fine of up to £50m early next year. Rangers have been told they will not be readmitted to the Football League and relegated to the Conference if they refuse to pay. Chairman Tony Fernandes has vowed to fight any fine. Cost control measures now operate at European level as well as Englandâs top four divisions. The Championship is the ninth largest league in Europe by revenue. CHAMP CHANGES Now ■ Clubs assessed year-by-year ■ Max loss: £8m per season for 2013-14, £6m for 2014-15 and £5m for 2015-16 Future ■ Assessed on three-year basis ■ Max loss: £8m per season for 2013-14, £6m for 2014-15, and £13m thereafter
We ignored the rules ... We spent borrowed money by people who pretended its theirs We pretended we were already like Chelsea etc who will never get relegated We could go all the way down It's their league and business not ours TF will he stay then ? He is currently full of hot sir our TF and enjoys the exposure far too much IMO
So DT, your a fully qualified lawyer now, with expert knowledge in a case, where there is no precedence ??? You do come out with a load of tosh sometimes.
That's not right. TF has always said that we would not go down the Chelsea route and when you look at the sums involved I agree. All we have done is spent more than some other clubs and that's been going on since football existed.
So QPR are being singled out? Some kind of vendetta then? What would be the point of that? Why QPR specifically?
The FA who are being chaired by Greg Dyke, remember he was the chairman for and life long Brentford supporter who hate us. I bet he is loving this!
All is not lost, we can try crowdfunding like Caterham has started doing. £50 million is nothing, just each of our 50,000 fans donating 1,000 each or 1,000 fans giving £50,000 each. Sorted. Btw it's Das Kapital as in "Das Kapital, Kritik der politischen Ãkonomie"
Apologies Brother Extremely worried about our finances and condition if we drop Tony hasn't delivered anything yet and doubts growing that he can
well lets panic every single day, until that fateful day in May, then panic a little more Regards, Captain Mainwaring
You worry too much. I have complete confidence in TF. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tvkvkG-ho...T7Abn_U98/s400/What does a dollar buy ....jpg
Sorry mate, my post was pretty lame TBH. I was just not comfortable when he go appointed to the FA (Farce Association). I really don't think Greg Dyke has any baring in this possible situation with hindsight.
The changes in stance will only strengthen our position in a legal battle as it shows that the rules were incompatible with how the league is run. A deal would be struck to pay a much smaller fee probably 5-10mill at most.
It is completely impossible to predict the eventual outcome. So lets just get on with enjoying the football, and leave this stuff to the lawyers (excluding DT) !!
In my professional capacity it is possible to predict to two outcomes We will get fined and if we don'y pay it then we won't be able to play in the football league We won't get fined and we will be able to play in the football league This advice is not free and I expect Dorking to pay my current hourly rate of £150
If we get chucked out of the Football Leagues (unlikely) why are people assuming we get to restart in the Conference let alone the Conference Premier? Surely like AFC Wimbledon it would be a restart at the very bottom tier of football, the ground will probably have been sold off by TF and associates at that point and it wil be down the local park for us. Four Decade Plan...
For that sort of advice, I would have expected to pay, 3 peanuts, not a nut more !! Fruitcake not included !!
