i pay for netflix im still on the old price of £4.99p/m personally i think its well worth it , i have it installed on my Xbox One , a cpl of xbox 360s , my son in York has use of it and its on a various other devices

Not sure of specific numbers , allowed but we have 4 names logged into the account - i think it allows 2 names viewing at the same time

This works perfectly for me as 3 of us are at one address and as i say my oldest at another .

in terms of choice , i think its great for weekend viewing , family viewing and watching box sets .

Now it wont replace me tv - well for me and my lads it does as none of us really watch telly as such

But as our lass catches up on soaps through the week (me the apprentice) a TV licence is still legally required lol

For the record - its worth paying for just to watch the whole of Breaking Bad - if you remove your eyes after that , you have

probably watched the best bit of drama ever ;)

No I dont. I think Hannibal and Game of Thrones are exceptional tv series currently in production. I could list you s**tloads of past tv series that are a million times better than Breaking Bad. I just dont fall for the hype perpertuated by c**ty know it all types desperate to be in with a hip crowd at the expense of being able to think for themselves.

I actually thought I'd hate Game of Thrones as it goes cos I f**ing despise Lord of the Rings more than anything ever produced in book or film history and thought it would be similar. But I gave it a chance and it's not.

Go on then, tell me what I'm missing with Breaking Bad? Where is the incredible story arc, wit or - heaven forbid - actual challenging of the viewer? It's so f**ing spoonfed it's incredible. Maybe that's why it's so popular, cos you dont actually have to think. People kept telling me "oh you'll get into it, it gets much better." Well that's not good enough, why was it given an opportunity to "get much better"? Loads of series get cancelled before they get this chance. And then it didnt get much better. I mean, Jesus Christ - that episode with the fly in the lab. F**ing hell, that's 50 mins of my life I'll never get back.

I've had Netflix since going to the 'superfast' BBand from KC. I really dislike some 'Live TV' like Strictly, X Factor and the like, so I watch Netflix as the wife watches that other drivel.

    Dexter - awesome
    24 - brilliant
Sons of Anarchy - just getting into it but brill so far
The Bridge, The Killing - even with subtitles they are soo gripping

The kids like old comedies like 'Come fly with me', 'Mitchell and Web' etc

I can watch on the iPad or on any TV so for me it is £5.99 a month well spent!

I'm not in a bad mood at all. I cant remember the last time I was in a bad mood.

Why do people always pick up on the negatives I say and make me out to be a curmudgeon and ignore the positives? I just named 2 tv series that I think are extraordinary, 2 of the best ever made. I just think Breaking Bad is breathtakingly average and not a reason to subscribe to a service.

Funny, you could technically say the same for one of your faves, Game of Thrones.

No, I made my own mind up about it. Like I clearly said in my post, I actually thought after hearing the hype that I would hate it as it was suggested it was Lord of the Rings-esque. But I didnt just make my mind up on what i read, I gave it a chance.

Still waiting for what's so great about Breaking Bad. if you fancy analysing the Fly episode that would be great :emoticon-0148-yes:

In my opinion, Breaking Bad is good for various reasons.

    1. The acting is superb. Bryan Cranston is incredible as Walter White, as is Aaron Paul as Jesse. The supporting cast is all of top quality too.

    2. The cinematography. There are no wasted frames, every scene balances its mood, its tension, on its use of colours.

    3. The writing. The dialogue is always tight. Nobody acts out of character. You never get a sense that an episode is there just to fix a past continuity error. There’s never a moment that seems like the writers had run out of interesting things to say. No filler, no wasted space.

    4. Science. Science is used for all sorts of fun things – like building homemade batteries or creating poison out of beans, or using mercury fulminate to make a meth look-alike that’s actually a highly explosive material you can use to intimidate a psychotic drug dealer.

There are other reasons I enjoy it but can't be arsed to list them all.

On that Fly episode, it's funny how you managed to pick the weakest Breaking Bad episode made. It has nothing to do with the main story whatsoever and is a really weird episode. But if you are basing Breaking Bad as a whole coincidentally on the weakest and most off-topic episode they produced, then you really need to go back and try again.

BTW I don't think Breaking Bad is the best TV show ever. In my eyes that accolade belongs to Band of Brothers.

    Just get Sky.

I can't get my mates to watch game of thrones, they all think it's ****, but they've never watched it, not even half an episode.

That's the problem, most people judge a show without properly seeing it.

    Hmmm....

And I'm not basing my opinion of the whole story on 1 episode. I've seen it all, I think it's really average. Simple as. I have never, not once watched an episode and thought 'wow, I need to watch another'. Everyone always replies 'what, not even the one (spoiler alert) when Hank has his shootout with the cousins" and no, it was completely standard viewing. I personally get the feeling people are desperate to love it because they're told to love it and that for me is why it's the Emperor's New Clothes.

Precisely my standpoint. I thought I would think it's s**t purely because of what everyone tells me it's about but, as I always do, I actually tried it rather than just dismissing it on a pre-judgement. And it's absolutely brilliant.

Have you tried showing them how ****hot all the women are and how often they get their norks out?

Yes, what's weird about that? Have you never watched the whole of something that you werent enjoying? It would be a bit foolish of me to dismiss something as being average if I hadnt seen all of it. You yourself just complained about people doing precisely that!!

Yeah I've got Netflix and it's pretty good, although as others have said it can be a bit behind the times. For example there's only five seasons of Sons of Anarchy on there and they're currently showing Season 7 in America. I live in the middle of nowhere and it still runs pretty smooth. One other point, if you're watching on a laptop and using Google Chrome, you can download the extension Hola Better Internet and access the American version which does have a load more stuff on. The Walking Dead for example and Warner Bros films which Netflix aren't licensed to show on the UK version.

Usually if I don't enjoy it I'll watch 4/5/6 episodes then stop. Why would you continue watching something you aren't enjoying?

I'm complaining about the examples Hat said, people who don't even watch half of 1 episode and make judgements.

That quote is aimed at Hat's mates who haven't even watched half an episode. That is ridiculous.
