Hmm... picked the wrong player to make a sarcastic comment about. Sanchez was chasing down players all night, it was the other midfielders who were culpable.
i see it went over your head. People were slating that other famous " midfielder " Lukas Podolski. The guy who scored the winner in the away leg in the dying seconds.. The point was , dont blame the goalscorers and makers , for **** defending. Blame those who need to be blamed. Barge Mertesacker , the forever useless Monreal , the free transfer bargain basement Flamini.
this. when you are 3 nil up with 20 to go you can even afford to sit deep and ride it out. They might keep banging away and get a goal , maybe even 2 if they are very very lucky . But they would never have got 3 if our fantastic manager knew how to adapt to the situation and park a red bus... But we play exactly the same whether we are 3 up , or 3 down . He walked off looking disgusted , he is the one who sat and watched the situation deteriorate in front of his eyes and did squat to stop it. No sympathy for the tool .
Obviously, Wenger has to take most of the blame for last night's shambles but Podolski has to do better in that situation. It does not matter that he is an attacking player, in that situation he has to close down the Anderlect player and not let him all the time in the world to pick a cross. Podolski is piss poor off the ball. One of the reasons, why despite his talent, he has not really been one of the top players in the world. Ramsey was also shockingly bad. Looking for a goal rather than sit deep and see out the game. It was just shocking all round.
Point is that every player has defensive duties, even from the front. Sanchez did really well last night in that department (as well as an attacking master class) he was chasing down players all night, but the player you're defending, Podolski did nothing to help the team. It was a **** decision by Wenger to bring him on, but Podolski has to take responsibility for defending from the front. He was as culpable as the others for our capitulation.
actually if any of the officials had spotted that the 1st goal scorer was a ****ing mile offside then we would have not conceded the 1st goal and probably not have done a meltdown. it could be worse we could have done a City tonight. so lets stop Bealing and move on to next game
Losing your best player to injury tends to be bad news for every team on the planet, not just Arsenal.
It's not just about those 12 mintues. The point about Podolski is a wider one. He is just simply not good enough, because when it comes to his off the play, he can't even do the basics. And in the modern game, you can't carry players like that, same to a lesser extent goes to Cazorla. We also have too many squad players who are just not good. Rosicky seems to gone past his sell by date in Wenger's eyes. Podolski will never start again. Campbell is not even deemed good enough to be in the squad now. Then you have the likes of Flamini,Monreal and Yaya SaNogoals. Our squad needs a massive overhaul in my eyes, but for that to happen Wenger has to go, so I guess we have to for another 3 years.
Real and Barca would fare better in their leagues without two of the best players in the world, so I'd say we're a one man team...
Currently, we are a one man team because Sanchez is our only inform attacker and our defence is ****e. Cazorla and Ramsey have been dreadful, Welbeck is proving his critics right with every performance, Wilshere and Ozil injured. But having said all that, the OX was showing signs of his qualities against Anderlect, hopefully he can step up and help out Sanchez.
