After our great win away against Palace tonight,a game that I said was a six-pointer,we can breath a lot better..and realise that we are only one win away from catching Liverpool and Spurs!

Who are in 7th and 8th and we're one loss from the relegation zone after game ten. Nothing about it was a 6 pointer imo<confused>. Still a great 3 points on the board. Long way to go. Beatable Everton next.

,,, and two points away from a relegation place. I'm not trying to belittle tonight's result - it was good, and it gives us breathing space. But two points away from relegation is nothing to celebrate. I want to see more yet. As you said, let's get it into perspective.

Thing is relic. Looking at the 3 points away from 7th is an optimists view... And I like optimism

Well nothing wrong with that Marcus. But in your experience, do Sunderland justify it?

It's not a matter of half empty or half full for me, it's a case of we're neither here or there, only ten games in. Great win and glad to get more points on the board but the league table means little at the moment when you look at the margins.

Stringing decent results together has been our weakness for a few seasons now, VanA's injury today and a rejig of the back line using what defenders we have may be the catalyst of a rethink in midfield tactics, especially without Cattermole as well.

Yes - of course they do. Without hope there is nothing. Without Optimism there is no hope. If we all thought pessimistically, we might as well chuick our season cards in the bin.

When is there to celebrate if not after a decent away win which has been much needed? All the pessimistic "post when we lose" posters have disappeared back into their woodwork

Tough game at the weekend without Catts and also injury to PVA. Time for Bridcutt to step up, this is exactly why he was bought, to cover Catts and its his chance to stake a claim.

I hope PVA's injury is not too bad, I have dislocated my shoulder, a lot depends on how much ligament muscle damage he has done. Mine took ages to get better (6 months) because I had a serious muscle tear, but I have done in since (as its not weak) and its better in a couple of days.

Totally agree. We may have papered over a few cracks but the lads have given us some hope that there's something within the team spirit that can see us through another season in the top level and that can give GP something to build on.

    Ok perspective.

last year we stayed up and we now have 7 points more than we did at the same point last season, in head to head games we have taken 6 points more from the same games last season. Hence I think we have improved, not hard to do mind you!
