Lallana has tried to say that he did not blackmail the board into letting him go and that he left on good terms. Yet him not being included in this video (even a clip like Shaw) and the lack of thanks on the OS when he left would say the board is still pissed with him. Which is just fine by me
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29904745 Keegan talking about Saints...in case you feel neglected if Saints aren't praised for an hour or two KK suggests top 4 (which we could do) would be a greater achievement than 2nd in his day.
a great video, lovely comments by Bale, Walcott, and Morgan, but as always Sir Rickie's comments caused a little tear, especially on the night that Brendan Rogers pissed all over Rickie's Strawberries, by not even putting him on the bench. Really impressed that there was no whiney comments from Lord Twatbeard.
Love Rickie. You just know how much he genuinely appreciates his time with us. Surprised with Chamberlains omission as I've seen him in various videos since he moved to Arsenal praising Southampton and the Academy. Like most of our youth products, he speaks very well too. Very well done though. These sorts of videos are far too often tacky and/or cheesy. This was inspiring/professional and as a Saints fan, makes you swell with pride.
It's peculiar, the change that has undergone the supporters. When the #We March On video was published it was derided as superficial clap-trap by a lot of fans. I myself felt a bit false while watching it, but I've seen it since and although the Club have updated it, the real change has happened in me, and I suspect in a lot of fans. Put simply, despite one or two reassuring messages from the Club, we lacked faith, because now it looks and feels absolutely fine. It actually makes you proud. And this latest one does too. Not picking you up SaintsJordy for your reaction, just using your word while illustrating my point. Indeed, goosebumps..!
I had goosebumps too there. I think the change from WTF at the start of the season to actually seeing it as cool is that pre season we were thinking it was a bit OTT for where we were at that stage after all we hardly had a squad but now it just like we are doing what clubs 'at our level' do I remember the Puma Arsenal kit unveiling video was really long yet loads of views. Part of the commercial side is to advertise and people do watch this sort of thing I was a bit thrown back at the beginning though: Gareth Bale - Real Madrid Superstar - World's most expensive player Rickie Lambert - The fairytale king of modern English football Theo Walcott - Multi capped Arsenal regular with kaboodles of CL experience Morgan Schneiderlin - The World's best deep laying playmaker errmmm................Kelvin Davis - Love the bloke legend. Whats he doing on this. Supposed to be A-listers init Then Targett came on and it was OK because it was about us being a superb club, well run, best academy and love people all round.
Indeed. When he referred to WE, he meant the CLUB at the time. Lots of ex-players refer to their old clubs as we, even though they've left and have retired. For the record, Saints were 6th and 7th in his two seasons, although they were 3+ months at the top of the league during one of them. 2nd, for a long time in the other. In 1984-85, Saints came with a fantastic run of winning games at the end of the season to finish 2nd. And all without Keegan, Channon, Watson, et al.
Can we bring SRL back in January as back-up for Graziano? At least we'd appreciate him here - unlike Rodgers and the Liverpool fans!! We could offer them 2 mill for him ..........
Absolutely ... he wasn't the only one with a lump in the throaty at that point. Also, how flippin' good looking is Morgan when portrayed in black and white footage? Oh la la.
and I still maintain that if we hadn't played Steve Williams in the Cup semi-final with a knee the size of a melon, he wouldn't have missed the next three or four games and we would have won the league. Oh and just spotted TSS, it was 83-84 not 84-85
OK. It was from memory. I often get the two seasons mixed up. I also have this enduring memory from that decade that every time we qualified for Europe we were banned because of Liverpool and Heysel Stadium. At least, that's what it seemed like.
