Not been to Burnley since 1984 and wasn't old enough to drink then. Anyone got any hints on boozers for before the game. I'm expecting it to be mainly home fans only but hope there will be somewhere for a prematch pint and pie. For information will have my two teenage kids with me.

bar in cricket club next to ground is good for beer, burger and Sky Sports - most others are Burnley only

Try the Talbot 65 Church Street or Bridge Bier Huis 2 Bank Parade. Both near the ground with plenty of beers to choose from.

    Little tip.
Anyone driving a independent mini bus.
Do not get parked near the official Tiger Travel coaches because you will not get to see the game.
The police make you stay with you vehicle until after the kick off then escort you at a snails pace to a parking spot miles from the ground. All drivers are expected to be back on their buses for 4.00 pm for another escort back to the ground to pick up your passengers.

Stop at one of the pubs on the hilly roads on the way to Burnley, the place itself is a ****hole.

Anyone off on the train? Sounds like I might need to be amongst numbers. Having read elsewhere Cricket Club sounds like the plan. About 20 mins walk from Manchester Road station?

I'm off on the train, cheaper than driving. I live in Preston though so will be catching the train, should be an interesting journey to say the least
