It is not that bad tbh. All it indicates is that United are still got a lot to improve. I didn't expect a lot from this game. Smalling threw the game away with his stupidity but the last 15 minutes were encouraging. United didn't get thrashed by City. United will improve with the purchase of 2 good defenders in January. While the RS are on the slide, with Chelsea and Madrid to come. The RS have nowhere to go and will be lucky to get 8th place this season...
Pretty embarrassing really considering how ****e you lot are. Still baffles me that he didn't sign a centre half. Smalling simply is not good enough and Jones appears to be made of glass. I mean, shin splints for **** sake. Is it clutching at straws that now Carrick is back Blind might have to step in at centre half? We are a decent right back and a commanding centre half from a very good squad.
If you've taken anything away from Liverpool this season, it's that spending vast sums of money, even on premier league proven CBs, doesn't mean you'll improve Van Gaal's ONE good attribute, it transpires, is that he has formed a "well known" reputation because he's coached at a lot of top clubs, so he might be able to attract better players than Rodgers. Tactically though, he's been very unimpressive, and to be honest he looks completely out of his depth at times, but if players deserve time to bed in, so does a manager. As a Newcastle fan, there's **** all in the Man Utd line up that worries me, although I know having said that we'll have a defensive horror-show now
?? Their forward line is excellent, on paper at least. Di Maria, RVP, Rooney, Mata, Januzaj......good attacking players. Though I agree it was silly not signing a CB in the summer, beggars belief in fact. Never gonna challenge for the title with Jones, Smalling and Rojo. They need 2 CB's and a CM for me to be challengers......If they signed Pique, Hummels and Vidal........
Rooney? Absolutely not. Januzaj? **** no. Of your serious suggestions, RVP has slipped the wrong side of the hill, Mata is out of favour and seems to be allergic to the colour red, and Di Maria, well, I agree he's a fantastic player, but it's pretty much neutralize him and we can beat them.
Rooney, while overrated imo because he is English, is still a very good player. Januzaj aswell has bags of potential. Mata was awesome at Chelsea, so we know what he is capable of. RVP is past his peak and is injury prone, but he can still put them away, he is a natural goal scorer who, if he can stay fit, has another season or two in him at the top level. I'm not saying its the best forward line in the world, but there is enough quality in there to trouble any team.
Next 4 games could change everything. Three home games and arsenal away. We are playing well and now we are pushing to the death so a great chance to put some points on the board. 10+ hopefully.
I think they're attacking quality is just massively overrated. Numerous times I've seen them come to St James' and be absolutely blunt-up front, with the same players. The same players who have got older and look like they should be keeping my Nan company in her retirement home... It's all well and good waxing lyrical about their former powers, and abilities they should have now, but thus far this season, they've been massively underwhelming. Thankfully for Rooney and Co, their back 4 have been so awful it's deflected criticism.
Weve also battered you home and away with some of those players tbf. And youve not faced some of them.
Didn`t Andy Cole suffer from this? Blind is no more a centre back than Carrick, in fact i would prefer Carrick for the extra height. Would Rafael have stopped the cross for the goal, i think he would.
And time. To get a lot of even talented players to play together as a team and to the tactics of the manager takes time. Those who thought that we were already challengers for the title have been brought back to earth. The only reason why we are still in contention for CL is the rivals are as inconsistent as United. What is disappointing though is that a lot of whats happening have been self inflicted. Rooney stupidly banned and missing for 3 key matches Smalling getting himself sent off with at least one unnecessary booking More turbulence to be expected this season
Think it's been pretty even on batterings in recent times. And we've maybe not spent as much as you did this summer in the last decade! It'll be an interesting match for sure, but I'm more confident than ever we can get a result
Yes, and they are very painful. I play squash and suffered from them severely but I went to a physio a few times and he just massaged the knots out of the shin muscles and I've never suffered since. I know I'm not at anywhere near the same level as a professional athlete but surely the United physio's can sort out likewise? Fairly sure Blind has played centre half. As it goes we've no one else so one of them will have to play there.
Blackett or Keane (may be on loan?). Blind has played centre back for Holland, he is just not very good at it so i would prefer Carrick simply for the extra height.
Fellaini spitting on an injured player, how low can you sink:
Van the man can't do premiership football. He is poor and needs to go back where he came from. Some have it and some try to have what it takes and Van the man plainly dont have it to be a top premiership manager who can get his team to challenge for the title....
And here's me thinking Evra had left the club! Clearly not eh as there is? Or is this just an old clip used as a pointless point scoring exercise by yet another ****wit with too much time on their hands.
