Unbelievable the last four games! A welcome win against Leicester, then three wins off the trot against teams we would have happily settled for a draw.

The next four games fill me with optimism. West Brom away, QPR at home, West Ham away, then Burnley at home. West Ham could prove difficult, but the other three are winnable. Get a decent return from these games and it should see us challenging for a top five place again. It's not just the results, but the way we are playing, full of speed and determination. What the hells changed?

    Funny old game football!

    The team.

    Gouffran out and Aarons/Sammi in.

    Williamson out and Taylor in.

Also others coming in or getting more accustomed to the PL

    Janmatt, Cabella, Dummett, et al.

And not forgetting Obertron playing like he should have been.

I'm not having a go at Pards but he has been a bit lucky but I don't mind lucky managers they're quite useful to have around. Better than unlucky ones.

Also Pardew not being so defensive and making better substitutions.

What's also encouraging is that Krul, Abeid, Aaron's, Sammy, Dummet and Taylor are all academy graduates.

The speed we play now is faster than I can remember in a very long time.

Let's face it, as soon as NUFC inspire any expectation and suggest games are 'winnable' they rarely deliver.

Our season will be defined by the majority of fixtures where we take points off the teams that will be scrabbling around for points bottom-half.

These freak wins against sides that normally spank us quickly become irrelevant if you don't consolidate them, we could quite easily go four games without a win again!

Confidence is great but we've got to stay realistic as averaging the stats out over this year isn't much better than two weeks ago.

The four teams all played badly and we grew in confidence thanks to them.

Give us some credit! Quite a coincidence that all 4 played so badly just as they play us..nothing to do with us affecting their game plans?

Granted, none of them looked at their best but we had to take our chances and could have had 4 away at City had the ref not bottled decisions.

They did have bad games Jesus they were terrible. All the teams were on the slide prior to playing us.

Aye, it's a bloody disgrace. I reckon we should hand all the points back to them.

It's a fair point but equally Newcastle are usually ideal fodder for those teams on the slide to things around, it's typical.

Especially this term's Newcastle side, honestly before Leicester most couldn't see us scoring never mind winning!

Deserve a lot of credit for not nervously reverting to type these young lads coming in, on a big stage with big/hostile pressure...

Quite simple for me. We have got ourselves organised and worked out a proper solid foundation to work from. Once you do that attacking becomes much easier because players know their jobs and where they should be when we break. Having ball carriers like Obertan and Sissoko is obviously key too.
