Forget the doom and gloom about yesterday. We were never going to get anything there no matter when we played them. Redders now has his contract sorted and so begins a new era and a huge week ahead, one very winnable game Tuesday and a must win on Saturday at Elland road. Everyone will get a fair chance with him and the quality of our squad will soon be apparent. Eire looking forward and won't be surprised if we pick up six points this week
Morning Eire. 6 points would be nice but definitely a minimum 4 points are required. Not saying we deserved anything yesterday but one of their goals was deflected and another was from a bit of calamity defending between Bellusci and Silvestri. So not all bad, and our goal was the best of the game by far. Great play from Mowatt. Redders likes Dawson too, which is a plus. We have 3 great young midfielders but it's a case of finding the right formula with them all. And is it me or is Morison starting to look a bit decent?
Morning to you guys. Not sure about your faith in your manager - half time yesterday would have been the ideal opportunity to show his stuff. Nothing in it first half - in fact both sides were crap, but Slade got a reaction from our guys and yours carried on as before. Your young Mowatt played well, but the rest of your side looked beaten once that first goal went in. Mowatt's goal was a shock to be honest and was probabaly one that we needed to wake back up - going 2 nil up for us has been a disaster for us recently. We'll take it, but our third was a joke and it killed you off. You only had yourself to blame. Lot of work to do for both managers, but I think it'll be done at opposite ends of the table for each of them.
Best player you've got by a long way - and amongst all the crap you've signed, he looks outstanding!!
Well the Northern types keep telling us they play like Barcelona, so do you think they will be near the top Sparky?
Geezer - last week we were chatting (as you do) about the promo/relegation teams come May. I had us as one of the three going up along with Watford and probably Wolves. My three for going down were Blackpool, Hyypia's Brighton and Leeds. From what I saw yesterday, I have no reason to change that.
Morning all. I have faith in Redders turning things round. Let's see how we do against Charlton. Surely a comfortable win at home on Tuesday.
Watched Charlton playing Brentford on the opening Saturday of the season - our game at Blackburn was on the Friday before. Both teams looked bloody hopeless and drop contenders in the making. Since then, they've both got their acts together and can play a bit. I can't see Charlton being as easy as you think. They've already beaten Derby, Watford and Norwich this season. Tough game against a side who can turn it on. They aren't top half of the table by mistake.
All all a load of nonsense anyway, form is irrelevant in this crap shoot division. Birmingham shipped eight last week and drew away at Wolves yesterday. Anyone trying to predict results based on results in previous games is at best wasting their time
You can only form an opinion on what you've seen - it's far better than basing it on what you want to believe. You're right though, anyone can beat anyone in this division as has been said many times before. We've lost to Blackpool and Millwall, but have beaten Forest and drawn at Derby, but sometimes a little honesty about the opposition goes a long way rather than suggesting Charlton would be a "comfortable win".
So Blackpool and Millwall both beat you and they will probably both go down and you needed 2 flook goals to beat Leeds who you recon will go down yet you think you are going up. get real taffy you will be lucky to get mid table.
I described the Charlton game as very winnable which I stand by. Whether we do or not is another matter. Past form to us means little given the constant turnover in coaches. Anyone expecting players would adapt to yet another change yesterday immediately were always going to be in for a disappointment
He's a hard worker, but like all present and past millwall players has no quality.needs 10 shots to score 1 goal, missed a sitter yesterday.IMO will never be good enough but squad player.
To be fair he's improved even if we are talking of him as a squad player. I'd much rather he contribute something for his wages rather than not be involved like our other wonderful striker...
He always was a hard worker, just his lack of quality means his chances to goals ratio is rubbish. We dont tend to create that many chances so a 1/10 is never going to be good enough for us.But if we play him like yesterday as part of a front 3 maybe he will have a use, lets hope so. All Millwall players to be fair work hard but the lack of quality means they are no good to any other team,Morison was there best player so is close to being able to step up.
Hell probably be used until his contract runs out or down far enough that hell be forced to move on. Like many others from the doomed era, will then be replaced by better quality. Thats when well likely see real improvement and a promotion push
He hasn't improved - he just looks a lot better because he was in a much better team last season which made him look average
