You say that but some timeform guy was punting her out for the gold cup at the end of the morning line this morning. What does he know?
Surprised no one has mentioned Velvet Maker 7/4 today 1:20 Down Royal, finished only 7 lengths behind some horse called Vautour in a maiden hurdle last December at Navan after joining the Tony Martin yard from France, owned by Barry Connell I would be surprised if that form wasn't good enough to win today's race. Roalco De Farges 8/1 is a frustrating type at times but looked to be heading in the right direction last time when beating last years rapid improver Standing Ovation comfortably and at 8/1 I think a big run can be expected. Going to be on Toronado 3/1 in the BC mile tonight, should be good enough to take this if he get's the breaks during the race. Also on the card there Ambitious Brew 16/1 in the 9:05 boasts good course form and is worth the risk at the prices. Best of luck to everyone as usual, have a good day.
1.25 Newmarket Bitter Lake 3/1 Mightily impressive on debut and ran a decent race at royal Ascot over an inadequate trip. Had her down as potentially being very smart after her debut and stepped up to a mile today I think she will take an awful lot of beating
Lucky 31 Presentng Junior 2.50 Ayr Rascal, Garrahalish and Ulk Du Lin at Ascot Taquin De Seuil at Wetherby In the big handicap at Ascot Charlie Longsden's Grandads Horse may out run his odds @ 40s. Flat track, good ground and a decent claimer taking 7lb off are all positives. The negative may be that he's still not quite good enough. I'll risk a little ew to find out. Good luck all. Oh and got to have a go on Michael Buckley's Toast of New York over at Santa Anita later on. More hope than expectation.
Mike Smith was ATR yesterday evening and put this one up as having a big chance - been going really well at home and will not no problems with the track.
1250 Newmarket DARK WAVE 5/2 in places way to big , I know there all open to improvement but this should redefine hack up
Afternoon All. Today's lucky 15. Down Royal,2-30.Rocky Creek. Ascot,3-00.Sign Of A Victory. Down Royal,3-05.Wonderful Charm. Newmarket,3-10.French Navy. Good Luck to all.
Aidan Coleman will be doing time in the sauna to get on Stone Light in the Byrne Group Handicap Chase at Ascot. 1lb out the handicap at 10-0, if Aiden's getting down to that weight there has to be a good reason.
Rishi Persad " this is the great thing about this time of the year watching these young talented, potentially useless horses ..useful horses.................."
