All hell has broken out in Portsmouth. The BBC have selected Portsmouth game and it has been moved to Remembrance Sunday with a 2pm kick off. The club had organised with the British Legion to have their standards and a Royal Marine bugler plus loads of collectors to be there for the Saturday fixture. All that has now gone by the board because the standards are required for various parades around the city on the Sunday. The poppy appeal will loose a large amount of money because of this but the FA and the BBC couldn't give a toss about that. Pompey have called the whole thing a disgrace and have said the FA are exactly that. People are asking why any football should be played on Remembrance Sunday and they have got that spot on in my book. I have been out collecting for the poppy appeal all week and will be again all next week and people are livid about this.

That's outrageous. The authorities should be ashamed of themselves.

My great great great granddad and two great great great uncles died in WW1 .

My granddad was a prisoner of war in Burma in WW2.

    Bit of a bump but

The motorway services Welcome Break company has slashed the amount of time Poppy Appeal collectors are allowed at their motorway services from two weeks to just three days.
For the last ten years charity volunteers have sold poppies and collected donations for the entire fortnight of the annual appeal.
But this year they have been told they can only have three days from this Thursday up to Remembrance Sunday.

That's because Welcome Break are ****s.

As are any British companies who don't encourage the remembrance of those who gave their lives in defense of this country.
