A little bird who was at the Q&A session for "London Jacks" last night, and subsequently dealt with (and lent lots of cigarettes to) Mrs Huw for a while, managed to find out that Huw and his Missus are jetting off to Barca for a few days, as well as having been there a few weeks back. My little bird commented "nice holiday" and she said "no no... it's business.... ****. Shouldn't have said that!"

Barca B striker heading our way? Place your bets gentlemen!

Also, I wish, hope and pray that if it's true, there's a video somewhere of Huw meeting the Barca president. That must've been the most surreal moment of Huws life!

Lordy....If Huw is setting up links there....

Actually kind of makes sense for Barca to use us to help develop their talent. We play (at least try to) in a similar style and now we're in the Premier League I imagine Barca would see us as an ideal club to send their youth players..

BR has links there already as he spent some time training to be a coach there. I wouldn't be surprised to find us with a player out of it but it could also be more to do with training. How much could our youngsters benefit from working with some of their coaches for a few weeks do you think?

Lads its common knowledge that Guardiola is a long time admirer of the swansea way, i have it on good authority that Pep has 2 photographs on his office wall at the nou camp, one of him shaking hands with King Juan Carlos of Spain and a bigger photo of him shaking our Huws hand up at llandarcy during a recent visit to Swansea where he sought advice from our brendan just before their champions league final against man ure

Soriano... that's a name that'll inspire songs! God I hope Huw is meeting the Barca president, purely because of what it would mean to him. Imagine the feeling, knowing you took control of a penniless club at the foot of the professional system, and then 10 years and 3 promotions later you're meeting with the biggest club in the world to try and nab a young striker.

    In Huw we trust.

Scottswan - looks like your little bird may be a genuine source. According to the club website, Huw really is on the continent! I didn't doubt your thread one bit!

Like I say, it comes from a mate who I know wouldn't lie just to start a rumour, who went to the London Q&A... and if he says he spoke to Huws wife, then he did!

Sounds like we're targeting strong players in all positions.

The one area we don't here of is central midfield. Do we have enough strength and quality here. Bodde will be
like a new signing if fit and consistent BUT what if he struggles with the pace?

A Danny Murphy type needed here.

Definitely move for Steven Quinn and possibly another strong championship player here...who's the Donny lad? Stock was it ...
....or Jay Tabb of Reading or Snodgrass or a Scottish Premier signing

The thing with our central midfield is that it's a unit, not a group of individuals. The players we have in that area all understand how we play and seem to fit together well - I don't think a Danny Murphy type would suit us as he just won't be able to play the ball the way we need him to. Kemy Agustein is an example of a big, bulky player who has struggled to fit into the way we play. If we find someone, they have to fit into that unit. If we don't find anyone that can play how we need them to, we shouldn't sign anyone. It's better to stick with what we have, than introduce someone new who could jeopardise the work ethic and ability of one of our strongest areas of the team.

I believe that we have enough quality in central midfield, but you are right that the depth isn't really there! We could do with at least 1 more high quality midfielder - Britton, Allen, Bodde and Gower can all hold their own, but I'd be wary of Cotterill or Orlandi holding their own in the midfield triangle next year.

By the way, good rumour and source. Really hope we bring Soriano to the Premier League - whether that be via a loan or purchase! I've seen enough videos of the guy already to know that he's pure class and will definitely add a lot in the way of movement and goals to our strike force! If it's someone else, I hope he's as good!

We are fine in the midfield, Bodde is looking very good, and will be let loose on the premiership, like a caged Lion!...........

Huw Jenkins in Barcelona reminds of the Mr Bean film when he went over to America. You know it's going to be hilarious...

Nice little bit of info as well Scott. Must say, i'm not sure on all the other rumours that followed about translators in Morgans and Spanish and Italian money etc... Still, what do I know?
